I think rezboyjoey is going to be correct. Portal 1 was a masterpiece...its hard to follow up something like that. While I'll play, and probably enjoy Portal 2 I cant help but feel it'll be a disappointment...the bar is just too high.

If I were valve I'd try to make something else original and fun instead, since they can obviously do that.

Portal is, in my opinion, as a lot of people state, really good, and I'd play it into eternity. It is the perfect game with perfect humour, perfect levels and everything else positive I can recall of.

I wonder how Portal 2 will be, I guess it'll most likely be good. Very good. :D

Portal 1 had a length that was perfect for the experience. However, the amount of material in the game was scant, and I personally can't wait for more. Judging by the brilliance in Portal 1, I trust that Valve will be able to bring the new gameplay elements and new plot into Portal 2 without making it seem forced.

It was short yes but in this case it was a good thing. Puzzle games tend to get tedious if they go on forever and ever, even if they are as awesome as Portal. Also since people played it over and over again that more than made up for its shortness.

One of the main reasons I even picked up Portal was because it was so short. I have a terrible tendency to start a game and never finish it.
Portal's length meant that every single bit of it was intense, there was no dull lag that you get in games that span hours upon hours.

There wasn't much to it; basic puzzles and stuff. It's not at all a bad thing, and it is better that it was short instead of being 3 times longer and really repetitive...

I didn't think it was too short. Sure I wished it should have been longer but I thought it had good enough length.

I was a bit skeptical about Portal 2 but when I saw that there would be co-op I thought to myself "Okay, this is Valve. They wouldn't do anything without knowing it would be bad, right? So this might be pretty unique, right?" Well, this is all stuff I hope for. I know my expectations are a bit higher than they were before but I'm still little nervous about this sequel.

It was perfect length - short. It was a boring puzzle game where you shoot holes to jump through.....it was rediculously easy which meant i didn't have to spend much time wasted on it, why IS valve making another again?!?!?!

Portal was the perfect length. It did everything well and never got draggy.

Portal 2? I'd love to play it. Except my computer crashes when I try to load Portal 1, and I don't have an XBox. Maybe eventually it'll come out on PS3. Elsewise, I can pass on it if I must.

It's size was one of the benefits of the game, a bite sized morsel that was just the right size for a puzzle game. The bonus levels where there for longer and more challenging games if you wanted them.

I suppose they could have padded it out with some more stuff, but that may have lessened its impact.

I guess it was kinda short compared to other games but it made up for it by being at least 2x more awesome. Certainly I wouldn't complain if they make portal 2 longer.

I won't say it had perfect length, but it felt right. As someone else mentioned, if a game is paced well length becomes less of an issue. Of course if it was longer and maintained the same standard it would have been even better (is that even possible?)

I think it was fine, but at the same time, I couldn't help but think "I gotta have more cowbell! Portal!"

It was quick and to-the-point, remaining fun the whole way, and there are the advanced levels/challenges if you'd like more content. Then there is also the upcoming Portal 2.

Considering I paid like 32$ for the orange box a couple months after it came out (Steam sale, and the Canadian dollar was making the American dollar its *****), I got an awesome deal.

Portal was a great introductory game which introduced another innovation created by Valve. Although Portal 2 will either top, equal or (insert fancy word here) the original, it will definitely be bought anyway... :p

I think the plot part is what to be expanded in Portal 2. The mechanics are already in place. I dunno what new feats are they going to place there, but the thing is it's the continuation of the story, much like Half-Life and Half-Life 2(although gameplay-wise, the sequel was of higher level obviously due to the difference in the game engine used. Nevertheless, it's still the continuation of the story...)

Portal was a tasty morsel of gaming perfection!
With Valve's track record, I have every confidence that Portal 2 will kick ass!
Still wish they were doing HL2:EP3 though...
