So Pottermore's beta is finally open for everyone after being delayed since October. As an avid Harry Potter fan, I nearly jumped for joy when I logged in and got sorted. So, my fellow Escapists, did any of you make an account? If so, what House are you in?

EDIT: Also, my Pottermore-assigned username is ShadowJinx16459, feel free to add me if suits your fancy.

Haha, I know. I was mildly disappointed by that at first, but it lets you give a nickname to anyone who adds you anyway. I think it's because it's a kid-friendly website so they're trying to prevent the whole "Mommy, what's a 'cockmonger'?" conversation.

Still, I would have liked to be "draconiansundae" like I am on every other website on the internet. Alas, my usernname is ShadowJinx16459.

EDIT: The site picks a username for me? Are you fucking serious? How the hell am I supposed to remember HazelCock1933252345?
I lol'd when it said: "Choose a username that is easy for you to remember", all of it's suggestions with at-least four numbers attached. Child protection is a bullshit excuse for such a shitty system, they could have at-least given us a choice of say two or three component words and/or choose our own numbers which would give customisability whilst preventing children using their real names. It's not a good start IMO.

Maybe it will be one of the many things they change before the end of the beta period.

So... Pottermore is some kind of Harry Potter MMORPG, i suppose?
Not exactly. It's more like an interactive reading site, sort of, with tons of extra content that weren't in the books. I'm also assuming more things are going to be added eventually, as the website's just in beta now.

I choose "PixieChaser" because im sure theres a joke of sexual nature in there somewhere.

On a side note, I am now taking bets on how long it will take me to get banned from the forums, lol.

(...If they ever get round to letting me do shit. After setting up my account the site just told me thats all for now and they would let me know when I could do more. This really isnt getting off to the best start.)
I know. I was equally irritated last night. But that second email is at least the last one. I just sat there refreshing gmail for like five minutes...

Picked the name "RiverMist14078", now been told like Smash that I can't do anything until they say so. Derp. I'm predicting either Ravenclaw or Slytherin as my house when it gets round to sorting me as I'm fairly intelligent/hard-working and although I like to think I'm a good person, I can be ambitious, ruthless and a little narcissistic at times. I don't think I'm brave enough to be a Griffindor, or bland enough to be a Hufflepuff.

I was also shooting for either Ravenclaw or Slytherin. But after the quiz my choice wound up being between Gryffindor or Slytherin, so it was really a no-brainer.

I was wondering how Rowling was going to squeeze more money out of the Harry Potter teat.
Except... it's free. Unless you want to buy e-books, but they aren't going to force you to.

It's bringing the Harry Potter brand back into the spotlight. This has many effects including

Raising book sales
Having a platform to launch new HP products

It's all about money.
Haha! Except for those of us who joined right at the beginning, I don't think Harry Potter every really left the spotlight.

Though yeah, I get what you mean. But in the capitalistic consumerist society we live in, is there anything really that isn't about money anymore? I sort of wish it would morph into an MMO though, that would be interesting.
