I signed up out of curiosity yesterday, got assigned to ravenclaw, and am now addicted to murde- I mean dueling. The game is decent considering that it is entirely free and that more content is on the way.

I read all the books, some more than once, and saw all the films - most of them more than once. I really liked it when it was around and all that but seriously, JK Rowling seems determined to not let it die. I honestly don't have the energy to still be excited about it. I really doubt I would read another sequel if she wrote it.

What happened with Pottermore? I went on it, got put in Gryffindor and then everything just seemed to... stop. Duelling wasn't working, potion making was limited and the CoS wasn't open yet. It it properly up and running now then?

how the hell does someone already have over 55 000 points from dueling already 0.0
No clue. It took me over an hour to get 500. And I'm decent at it, usually get a 140 or 141. Best ever for me was 143.
Best I ever had was 143 as well, I have no idea how I made it that high, usually I'm 139-142.

My best guess would be that the people with hundreds of thousands of points were in the beta/alpha and their points didn't get wiped when they went live.

I cant find the sorting hat...I dont want to "explore" chapters..I want sorting hat!
You'll have to play through the chapters to get to the sorting hat, but you can run through them pretty quickly by pressing the 'next' button

Edit: I'm a Gryffindor.

Can't say I was...pleased with the outcome. I guess it's not so bad...sort of.

Dammit, I wanted Ravenclaw!

Was sorted into Slytherin :)
Redwood wand, unicorn hair core, 10 3/4 inches, supple.

I'm loving the potion brewing, but my biggest complaint is that a potion will take an hour to brew, and award like 15 points. While doing duels for the same amount of time will award me like ten times the points.

And yeah, it seems like petrificus totalus is the best spell for dueling (of the ones I've found)
I agree. I'm not sure why, but it seems to be way better than any of the others.

I'm convinced brewing the sleeping draught is rigged. I've tried five times and I've followed the directions exactly, but it keeps making up errors I didn't actually make and refusing to come out properly!

...Maybe I just lack the necessary skill?

EDIT: My cauldron exploded. I think I'm going to go back to brewing the cure for boils...

Chamber of Secrets hasn't opened up yet. It will on an "undisclosed date" according to Pottermore Insider, as informative as that is...

I'd like to point out the website has been in beta for almost a year now. I got placed in Slytherin even though I know I should be a Ravenclaw.

my biggest problem with the sleeping draught was the ingredient that you have to pour (flobberworm mucus). all the ingredients that have to be tipped into the cauldron are really...touchy
