I use Steam for a lot of my PC gaming, so I tend to pre-order with that more frequently since I know I'm gonna be buying the game anyway, so I might as well get the purchase out of the way. Comes with the added bonus of being able to pre-download the game so it's ready to go at time of release.

You still preordered ME2 before buying FO3.
I'm getting my pitchfork.
Now let's be fair, which version of FO3 was he going to get? Console or PC?

If it's console I support his decision to pre-order Mass Effect 2 entirely, seeing as how Fallout 3 is/was crap on the consoles.

If it's on the PC, however, you won't ever get the chance to use that pitchfork, as I'll have already skinned him alive and thrown him into an active volcano by the time you get there.

The only two games I've ever pre-ordered are two Grand Theft Auto titles: Vice City and San Andreas - both of those were SO FUCKING WORTH IT, so my experience with pre-ordering has been extremely positive.

I only pre-order if I actually get something extra for doing so. Such as a discount on the game, or access to it's beta.

But simply doing it for the sake of ensuring there's a copy for me on release day? No, and I've never had a game sell out on me, and I've never made an effort to rush out to get it early.

I voted no, but I forgot that I did pre-order the Guild Wars expansions... Those weren't really worth it since the extra stuff they gave was very unimpressive, but it was a cool game so I didn't mind.

Even though I don't normally pre-order things, I can certainly see why other people would.

I could never understand getting the product on release-day. You've waited months anyway, will another few really hurt? Most people have plenty of games they missed from the previous hype-fest to tide them over until the price inevitably drops.

I play FO3 on my Ps3.
It fucking owns. I'm still getting my pitchfork.
You have no idea what you're missing man, the console versions are crap in comparison to the PC version (And this is personal experience too, I owned the 360 version before the PC version, and friends have told me there's no real difference between the 360 and PS3 versions, so rest assured I'm not just some PC elitest that's pulling shit out of his ass).

Get it for PC if your's is powerful enough dude, I swear on my chair you will not regret it.

Just hold your fork my post-apocolytic brother, he deserves fair trial... For now.

I only preorder online, I like to keep my options open in the physical world usually the shops around here don't run out of games that quickly and don't always get their shipment in on time.

I remembered I pre-ordered Majora's Mask back in the day so I'd get the nifty 3D label with the gold cartridge. Since then I just don't see much of a point. I have pre-ordered a few games off of Amazon, but it was mostly so they would just send me the damn game when it came out instead of remembering to do it once it was released.

I have pre-ordered quite a few games before, and I'm sure I will in the future. I had Super Smash Bros Brawl on pre-order for nearly two years. The reciept with the order had basically no text left on it since it had been in my wallet for that long.

The only time that I have pre-ordered anything was Diplomacy for Sins of a Solar Empire, which basically meant that I got access to the betas testing. I wasn't very pleased when I noticed that the game wasn't quite "there yet"

So, I'm waiting around for the game to get a release version, before I go back there again.

Snip, snip, snip.

Another one snips the snip.
Do you mod your Oblivion? Doing so can really extend the life and gameplay value of your game.

Yeah, buying DLC really comes back to bite 'ya in the ass, doesn't it? (Good thing the only DLC I got on the 360 was Operation: Anchorage, eh?) I now how you feel about the uber characters too, I had to abandon all 8 of mine when I moved to the PC, I still miss Thorax the Drunken Do-gooder...

...Huh. Your PC can run Crysis flawlessly but hiccups on Oblivion? The fuck?

Maybe getting it for the PC isn't the best idea then, seeing as how FO3's graphics engine is essentially a souped-up version of Oblivion's. I doubt your computer would... 'Accept' it? (Not sure if 'handle' would be the right would here, seeing as how it can run Crysis, it should be able to run OBLIVION, of all things).

Well, the console version is better than nothing, I suppose, and the DLC is pretty good, so you're not that badly off.

No, I see how it could be nice, but I'm just too twitchy about reading 300 reviews to make sure I'm not wasting my time/money.

Only reasons I might pre-order is if I'm somehow completely positive it'll be awesome, or if it's got a great pre-order gift. (Ahh Pokemon Sapphire, you sucked, but that coin was so worth it)
