Remember, this one's not even over yet. They'll be saying the Mayans predicted the end "around" the 21st and it could be anywhere up until 2013.

Personally, I'll give it around 50-60 years for the next one and within 20 years afterwards for the one after that.

You're giving people too much credit. I'm pretty sure that at this very moment, there are at least a dozen apocalypse predictions that are still "unresolved". Also, wait until people start making a big deal out of 2038 [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Year_2038_problem] just like they did with the Y2K bug.

Anyway, I'd give them 10 years, tops. Some people find comfort in the end of existence/the world, and how unlikely it is isn't going to change that.
