I use the word cute instead of pretty, but with pretty much the same definition.
I don't even mind a less-than-perfect face if the person has a really nice personality.
Sure, I can stare at hot girls but I would only ever consider going out with the pretty and cute ones... too bad their often harder to get.

Can't i have a girl with a pretty face AND a 'hot' body???

Most girls i know who i would consider pretty have both. But obviously for a girlfriend i need to find them sexually attractive (anyone who says they dont care if their gf/bf is sexually attractive is lying) otherwise i'll just be friends with them.

I don't really consider personality to be part of "pretty". That being said, when I am interested in a girl, it's firstly based on personality, though I'd be lying if I said looks play no part in my interest.

Overall, I don't know. I'd guess I'd just go with "attractive" because it's all inclusive.

I prefer pretty and cute to hot. Hot is often square jawed, vacant look and backbreaking boobs. Ugh.

"hot" is a subjective term and while i, like all males of my age (yourself included, don't lie) enjoy a nice set of knockers, the perfect girl to me is someone with a cute smile, a pretty face and an agreeable personality. The commodities that make a girl "hot" have no hindrance on who i find interesting.

So i'll say pretty but i'd rather say 'cute' ;)

I've changed a lot from when I was 15 (Thank God...) and I'm know more interested in personalities, not the size of a girls breasts.

It sounds too sexual and almost sexist in a way. When someone says "hot" they're probably thinking about just the sexual part of it. That's why I like cute, pretty or beautiful.

OT, though, I like non traditionally hot girls. Small breasts, nice figure, intelligence, personality and glasses are a bonus :D

So, I guess pretty or cute by normal standards
Or basically, just this, as I've actually discussed with the user I've quoted a few times.
I had a conversation like this with a friend too recently. I asked him if some girl was he was talking about was hot. He said what you said that hot to him sounded like if he wanted to have sex with her. I told him that was pretty much what I was asking. If you are dating someone that's kind of where the relationship is eventually heading. I, myself don't see it as sexist unless you're trying to be degrading. You know in your own mind what you mean and if it's genuine appreciation then it's flattering more than anything else.

Sometimes hot can be appealing, but it is rarely attractive. I may want to "get it on" with some of those hawt cosplayers I saw this year at Comic-Con, but the ones who landed the cute or pretty look were definitely the ones I was attracted to.

That said, sometimes a mixture of both works, too. Though not rarely. I'm also really sick of seeing women with huge breasts everywhere. There was a little too much of that this year at Comic-Con. One woman looked like she was going to burst out of her tight red outfit. She wasn't the least bit fat either, she just had boobs that were about 3 sizes too big for her body.. and about 10 sizes too big for the outfit. I thought the nipples would drill holes through it before too long. I'm also sick of it in video games.

I prefer to call someone beautiful, but between the two I'd go with pretty. Then again, I'm one of those weird people who may care a bit too much about personality. While I don't disregard looks, personality matters a ton to me.

Don't know really, I just like whatever my brain tells me to, I don't really choose. There's just certain people that push my heart rate up big time.
And something else?

I prefer pretty faces. I'm not really into big boobs.

The "hot" girls i met while your age were always shallow and just looking to move up the cool kids social ladder. The cute girls had a brain and were not afraid to use it. Go for the pretty/cute girls you can usually count on them way more than the hot girls. I know one girl from high school still relies on her breasts to be her personality, it was funny then, now it is just sad.

You fantasize about hot ones, but date/befriend/marry the pretty ones. Ideally you get someone you think is both (I did).

Justin Beiber hair... and that's a good thing? I always thought of his hair as "Donald Trump Lite".

Pretty. A woman could have breasts and a bum sculpted by the gods, but I'd rather have a pretty face to look at, and a pair of beautiful shimmering eyes to look into. :)

I like a bit of both, unless given the degree of hotness is equal-or-greater-than the degree of prettiness. That bends a bit Oliver's First Law of Dating.
