So my friends, since both are looking fairly similar and many people compare both games. which one you are more hype for?

well I cant choose between anyone. both are my most anticipated games atm. both looks and feel amazing. I guess when it comes to Shooter its Prey and when its come to immersion and RPG elements. its System shock easily.

I was hoping System shock to release this year but it push back next year.

to me Prey will be GOTY 2017 and System shock will be GOTY 2018.

so which one you are more hype for?

Nothing kills hype more than a B-cell thread hyping it up. It's one of the rules of the universe or something.

But, fine, I guess Prey, if only because I have mild interest in it, whereas System Shock is more "oh, that exists."

I am interested in both, but I wouldn't say I'm hype for either. Hopefully both will be good and I think they probably will be, but even so I'm not holding my breath.

I'll bite.

I liked the first PREY, but it feels like everything that made that game special to me is absent in what we've seen from the sequel.

System Shock seems more my type. I've never played the first one, but I've always liked the second one's atmosphere. Going by the demo, it looks like it's being pretty faithful to the original. I'm not ashamed to say that I'm glad that they're streamlining it a bit... but hopefully they don't go overboard.

I don't see either of them being a GOTY, though.

Wow, you've got two game-of-the-year accolades for two consecutive years. Bonus points because they're unfinished products.

On-topic though, neither.
This iteration of "Prey" might as well be called something else since it seems so divorced from the somewhat more unique elements of the original. With the lack of identity aside, the enemy designs appear to be lacking, so whatever remains doesn't really inspire any confidence.

This iteration of System Shock seems to be chasing it's own tail. Then again, I'd like to see some innovation, not retreading old ground with fancier tools.

I'm not exactly sitting on the edge of my seat, but I hope they turn out be decent.
Unlike say: Shadow Warrior 2, Quantum Break or Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. (Coulda' sworn those were all pristine GOTY material...)

Neither, cause the new Prey comes at the cost of the old (unless they wish to surprise me) and I never played System Shock.

I am more interested in Prey though, but there is a clear layer of doubt in it. Even if it is great, I will be disappointed if it really has no connection to the first.

None really for either, but I did play the original SS and enjoyed it way back in the day. I never played the original Prey so I have no opinion on it. I guess SS remake just because I have some expectation.

But both are low on my list of games I care about.

I never said quantum break as GOTY material. and it turn out ok.

Morgan Yu by default is male, female version is secondary. they didnot advertise female morgan, neither in trailer nor in promotion.

But you can play as a female. And if your thoughts on Dishonoured 2 have shown us anything, it's that anything unmanly takes away from the manly feeling of being manly in all its manliness.

any game makes me more excited than prey but that more because the first game actually made me motion sick. first one in 35+ years of gaming

Overstatemnet of the milenium. The pacing bored me, the enemy was distributed in too many arenas with little in-between, and the music didn't pump me up (unlike the original Doom & Doom 2). It just didn't hook me.

Seeing as one won't even be available on my owned system, I have no choice but to choose Prey. The other looks kinda pretty though.
