Im looking for something that is both cheap and has replay value. I did not get a chance to play either set because i was nintendo gamer until the Wii reared its ugly head.

PoP Collection. Much more engaging and enjoyable, I personally never liked the Tomb Raider games. Too bland.

Well with the PoP series you'd actually be getting 3 different games, so that. I feel the platforming and combat is also much more fluid than Tomb Raider.

Hmm its a tough one, you've gone and picked two game series with both awesome and ruddy awefulls games in, i'd favour Prince of Persia though, just for sands of time, its realy very good

PoP collection. It's a no brainer. The entire Tomb Raider collection is mediocre and forgettable, while the PoP collection has Sands of Time, which is one of the best games from the previous gen... the other two games are decent enough.

So you can either get some mediocre games, or one amazing game and two better than average games. The choice is clear.

Three of the worst games in a series or the three best games in a series? Prince of Persia.

The Tomb Raider collection is full of crap. That is not Lara Croft.

I'd say you should pick and choose. The only Prince of Persia games I've liked were Sands of Time and the 2008 game. Tomb Raider games were never my forte. I heard that Underworld (which was made for current gen consoles anyway) was good and is a better bet for newcomers.

On the HD collection front, just be aware of the following:
ICO Collection (contains ICO and Shadow of the Colossus) - Sept 27

Splinter Cell Collection (Splinter Cell, Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow and Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory) - Sept 27

Metal Gear Solid Collection (Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker) - November 8

I personally would go with the Tomb Raider collection. They're clunky and imperfect but capture that fun spirit of exploration

The Prince's series is one of the greatest series out there. Even with the second one going a little batsh*t mental.

Why not the best of both worlds?

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, available supremely cheap and even free in places is really in my own humble opinion the only one worth owning though some people really like the new one... I don't, but some people do.

Tomb Raider: Anniversary. My favourite of the recent Tomb Raider titles offering the best of the old-style platforming and puzzle solving experience with modern visuals and a few modern twists. Damned solid game, I loved it!

Combined cost between those two if you look around and buy them separately is probably less than either of the collections.

PoP, much more polished games.

Plus, get Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, I can't even stress enough what a fantastic game that is, but none of you monkeys bought it! Now get off my lawn!

I said Tomb Raider mainly because you will just get more gameplay out of it in general. I do love my Prince of Persia though...

It depends, what do you want to look at? The back of a hot girl, or the back of a hot guy? Your choice. The gameplay is basically the same, save for different attacks and the time-reverse that Dustan has.

I love early Tomb Raider. Admittedly haven't played much PoP, but Tomb Raider 1, 2, and 3 are absolute mint. Still play them today :)

So, my vote definitely goes for Tomb Raider. (quick note though, don't bother with anything on the ps2 or ps3...)

I'd recommend the TR collection, but then I'm a big fan so I'm quite biased.

And this. GOL is a fantastic well-worth spend.
