to me, they're more or less the same cept different shapes and the analouges are on different places. I like the ps3 cause it hasnt changed its controller much over the years since the ps1 and it's easy to keep hold of and very comfortable. I also like the xbox 360 controller because its very fitting for my hands, but its probably just cause im a halo fan-boy

I like the 360 allot. It has a nice shape and texture, It does not slip that much and it does not get all to warm when you hold it.

BUT!

The Depad and the thumbstick is so hideously malformed and misplaced that there is nothing i can do but hate it in the end. I mean c'mon! Microsoft, you wore so close to creating the best controller ever and then you do that!

No sorry. I'll just play on my perfectly simple PS3 controller any day of the week, whom is the best controller, right now.

I'm a bit biased because I've only held the 360's once or twice but I've had a sony dualshock all my gaming life and it's worked for me so far.

Overall I prefer the 360 controller, but I don't like the D pad or the bumpers on it. Those I prefer on the PS3 controller. Overall it goes to the 360 beacuse it's nicer to hold, feels better built and the tactility of the buttons is better (in my opinion).

360 controller is, by a long way, superior to the PS3. The PlayStation controller has the analog sticks in the wrong place and it doesn't encourage a natural positioning of the hand, with the crappy triggers and all.

I have fairly small hands and I love the 360 controller, it feels just right, the Playstation controller gives me cramp if I am playing for a long time. I love the Gamecube too controller it was awesome.

Oh if you having trouble with Minecraft control then i believe your head would explodes when you're playing early Rainbow Six (most notably Rogue Spear),SWAT3,possibly every RTS that emphasize on micro managements.

But really you should practice mouse+keyboard skill with Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear because It is the very first PC game i ever play,I started from "What button do i push to make my guy walk" to "Coordinating with 3 other teams to strike multiple point at the same time to prevent terrorist from destroy key objectives"

You forgot to add an option for a mouse and the option for not minding either of them.

The Black/white buttons were not like the other face buttons, btw. They were smaller and set in a bit more. Never had an issue with them.
I could never actually reach them (or find them when needed). They were one of that controller's biggest flaws. Microsoft did well to copy Sony's (L1, R1) design in this gen, instead of rehashing that mistake (though they are too skinny and I sometimes miss them completely).
Personal preferences I suppose. I never had any problems with them, and would have rather had those as an option than have to use one button for two or more functions. Also, I never used anything but the S version of the old controller, and I hear the originals had tough to use Black/White buttons.

Resident Evil 5 used the X button to pick up items and open doors. I was playing coop, and and my brother and I were picking up some drops in an area after a particularly intense fought and I went for one that was too close to a door, and went thought, moving us on before we got all the loot. More face buttons means fewer context sensitive buttons.

Come to think of it, the D-pad on the old xbox systems were also better than they are now. Wonder who dropped the ball there?

With each controller, I had only one complaint, both easily fixed by an add-on purchase. The 360 had me picking up the $20 wireless adapter kit and the PS3 had me picking up a pair of $5 "PS3 Dual Triggers" off of Amazon.
Wireless adapter? I thought all 360 controller were wireless.

This whole thread seems to be:

"Well I own both systems, and I don't even like playing "system A" because of the controller but the controller for "system B" fits in my hand perfectly."

I used to own shit with the gigantic original Xbox controller. Hell, you put any controller in my hands, I'll own shit. All the people arguing are really just disgusting fanboys.
I haven't seen any fanboyism in this thread.
All I see is a discussion about what controller fits each persons style better.

It isn't about system either. I haven't seen anybody saying a system is better than another. If I had the money, I would buy PS3; it would completed my console trifecta of this gen.

Of course I would most likely have to do what people are saying and buy the normal triggers to stick onto the PS3 controller.

The only problem with the 360 is the D-pad, but that problem hardly every comes up in a game.

Some controllers are better than others to some people and others to other people. And from what I can tell, it really isn't that the designs of either controller that's bad, it is the shape of the hand and the fingers that are using it. Because even though I have really small hands, the 360 controller is in no way big, bulky, or heavy for me; the funny thing is that I feel no weight at all.

Now he did mistakenly leave out not minding both, but with the title of the thread, it is obvious he was focusing on just the PS3 and the 360 controllers.

So he didn't forget to add the option for mouse and keyboard. It isn't about including all controlling devices.

It's fine to come in here and say you don't like either and prefer a keyboard and mouse or whatever other controller, but the thread isn't about them, so that is why the poll doesn't include them.

OT: I like the PS3 controller better than the 360 controller because, its smoother and easier layout, also the 360 controller is too bulky.
The 360 controller is bulky? I have smaller hands than a normal guy and I don't find the thing bulky in the slightest. It is just right perfect layout of everything.

The gamecube controller is in no way perfect. It has that stupid off-set B button. The L and R are monstrous, and when I did need to go for the Z button, I found my finger latching onto the R button by accident many a time. I would go so far as to say the 64's controller was better set up than the Gamecube's.

I have only had experience with PS2's controller, and if the PS3 is anything like it, I would hate it. The PS2 one was too elongated and those analog sticks were just too big.
i generally prefer a smaller controller and the Ps3 controller fits my hand much better than the 360, also i like the way the buttons are set up on the PS3 much better than the 360, mainly cause the analogue sticks are parallel and I know the controller much better than the 360.

When I play games, I play with my thumbs first and second fingers, so I never have the problem of getting my fingers stuck on triggers, its the way I learned to play, also I always liked that controller -probably just me though :p-.
The PS3 controller differs much from the PS2.

1. It's much much lighter.
2. Its more rounded and a little smaller. -or at least feels like its smaller to me-
3. the R2 and L2 triggers are wayyy different and easier to press.
You can't really see the triggers on the PS2 controller but they are horrible, and most the time whhen I played with one was hard to press, might have been just my controller.

This is a PS2 controller. What you posted is a non-Sony variant. Sony barely changed it's controller from 2 to 3. They just changed the triggers to the crappy triggers most everybody in this thread is complaining about and have to buy extra triggers to stick on the bad ones.

Edit: Most people are saying they liked the PS2 triggers, though I would say that the 360's are the best around because they are actually triggers, not buttons.

Thats it but I used the one in the picture I posted :p. Just cause everyone else is complaining doesn't make my opinion wrong. The PS3 triggers are far better than the PS2 triggers and the 360s but I'm not a microsoft person I dont really like Xbox in general even though their company games are decent. I prefer Sony.

EDIT: I'm not saying you're wrong either. This is why I like this forum site, people can have a calm discussion about things, erm most the time.
