Okay.
Unless I hear it?s a total travesty or buggier than a meth head, I?m probably getting Portal 2.
I was just going to get it for the PC but with a free PC version coming with the PS3 version, I figure I?ll get that even though I?m probably going to just play it on the pc.

My question for the ps3 owners: are you nervous about the quality of the ps3 version of this game?
I ask because up until last E3, every representative from Valve complained about how hard it is to make games for the ps3. We haven?t even seen a game of theirs on the ps3 since the Obox. As a ps3 owner, I?m well aware of what it?s like to get the inferior version of a multiplatform game: the most recent bane of my ps3 was Fallout New Vegas which came out half a year ago, has been patched a few times, and still doesn?t work. Are you worried Portal 2 might end up like that or do you think they finally got their minds around the ps3 architecture?

I thought a different company ported the Orange Box over to the PS3.

OT:

If Valve is doing the porting, then I feel secure in its stability.

If not, well, not so much, but it will still be good. Besides, if it is totally unplayable, PC version is right there waiting :D

A "mess" is not something I would say in the same line as "Valve".
I have all trust that this game is going to be just as awsome on the PS3 then on any other platform.
It would be a pretty hard job to screw this game up.

The First Portal on the PS3 was a mess of awful controls, zoomy cameras and awful running.
I don't expect this to be... any better.

But I enjoyed the first PS3 version (I put up with it, and it was alright), so maybe I'll get the PS3 version of Portal 2 to see if it holds up.

why would I be worried? No not in the least.

- Valve is doing everything themselves.
- Portal 1 was awesome, this will be even better.
- I get a free PC code for Steam, so 2 games in one.

Wow..for all the praise Valve get, very few actually have any faith in them.

Very true, it boggles my mind to see ho much praise valve gets while also getting so much hate from its own fanbase. I chalk it up to people having an idealistic vision of what valve is and when valve proves this vision false by acting like a legitimate business (which they are) the fans get pissy.

Case in point, this ARG at the moment, people got pissed that valve didn't immediately release portal early, and instead accuse valve of being cheapskate bastards only looking for a buck pandering an early release to get steam sales.

*cough* seems like I went of topic too much...So OT: I don't think the PS3 version will be a bad port, with all evidence pointing that the PS3 version is supposed to be the best of all choices when you get an extra copy for your pc along with the ps3 copy.

Also I sense a lot of hidden anger in your poll options.

I'm not worried about it at all. This time, Valve WANTS to work on the PS3, and while their release schedule is insane, the quality of their games is always above par. I'm a little annoyed that I have to make a Steam account in order to play on my CONSOLE, but that's really just "the principle of the thing," nothing truly annoying.

You don't really NEED to make an account. The entire game will work just fine even if you don't synchronize it with Steam... you just get some extra (optional) functionalities.
I am not worried. Valve seems to have time to put their game together with an in-house PS3 development team, and their QA standards are so high its unlikely to be a mess.

Any other company saying that and then releasing a game would scare me away, but this is Valve. They have yet to prove to me they're beyond doing something. I sound like a fanboy for Valve, and I probably am, but I just trust Valve's games, I don't think they're release a poor quality game on a system, in fact, I'd think they'd take the extra time to make sure their first big PS3 release that's simultaneous with the 360 version would be perfect and okay

I'm not worried

I'm not worried in the slightest.

Why?

Because it comes with a code for the PC copy anyways.

The fact that it can connect to steam and give you a free copy on PC is awesome. Plus the free DLC and updates.
Man I wish I had a PS3

Why would we be worried? Worst case scenario is that the PS3 version sucks and we play the PC version instead, there's nothing to lose.

The PS3 port of Portal 1 wasn't developed by Valve, hence it's horribleness.

OT: I don't see any reason why it won't be great. They're taking it seriously now, and when Valve does something, it does it right.

Pretty much this. Though I highly doubt it will be bad on the PS3.

Umm, I'm guessing you didn't see this, or don't remember it.

If anything 360 owners should be worried.

There the same game I seen no difference in the PC, PS3 and 360 versions of the orange box besides have only one good game in there :C the orange box was my biggest let down in gaming history ever for me. Far be it from me to tell people want to enjoy if you like it you like it if you hate it you hate my comment shouldn't effect you judgement of the game.

TF2 = online games get boring fast
half life 2 (plus eps) = ahah fuck off!!!
portal = ya its good XD
