Poll: PS4 Fanboys

I find these people particularly annoying and was wondering how others felt about this premature fanboyism.

I actually don't suffer from any particular fanboyism, I've had (and enjoyed) all of the current consoles.

All fanboys or fanatics are annoying even if they are on your side but as an above poster stated if this is about people going for PS4 over Xbone thats largely not down to everyone becoming PS4 fanboys its more down to people having legitimate issues with the direction Microsoft is trying to take console gaming.

Ill go with the PS4 is great in comparison to the Xbone but then again most things are but that dosent seem to be a poll option.

While you get Fanboyism everywhere in Gaming, in this case, it's more due to the MASSIVE list of legit complaints with the Xbone.
Hell, the bandwidth required for the Cloud computing alone makes it unplayable in most of my country of Ireland.

The fact that I can play PS4 completely offline and not even use any of the online services makes my and my crappy internet very happy.

this thread and poll are premature. Everyone talking up the PS4 over the Xbone isn't really fanboyism yet, its logic. I chose the poll choice of "The PS4 is great, and let me tell you why" because none of the other choices were correct.

The only thing that matters is what games are on the consoles, and whether you want to play them badly enough to buy the hardware.

Well, there are people who want to keep some games (Kingdom Hearts 3 and FFXV, for example) PS4 exclusive and are saying that an Xbone version is an abomination or saying the Xbone hardware will make the PS4 version worse. Smells like fanboyism to me and it's already started.

I haven't seen that, but I remember it happening with Final Fnatasy XIII on the PS3. That's Playstation fanboyism, not specifically fanboyism for the PS4.

Ah, ok. I haven't seen any of that happening yet. But, of course, I really don't care what fanboys have to say, so it really wouldn't bother me.

I just laugh at them, usually, especially when I saw they were starting an online petition to stop the Xbone versions from happening.

Well all fanboys tend to be annoying, but in this case, it isn't really fanboyism (yet). It's mostly people talking problems with what Microsoft is attempting to do with the Xbone and the PS4 not having those problems. I get the feeling if MS didn't have the laundry list of problems that it currently has, then the amount of people "supporting" each console would be about even.

That, to me, isn't fanboyism.

To put it simply, I like the things Sony have been doing lately and I'm excited for the ps4. Game capture, the controller looks more comfortable, the games previewed at e3 look fun, dat price, etc. I'm not afraid to admit that I'm fanboying but thing is, I would drop Sony in a minute if I found out they were doing similar bullshit to the xb1. Not only that, I won't defend Sony's new practices that people have a problem with like mandatory ps+ for multiplayer games. I don't think ps+ is a bad value, but I totally get that people are wary about paying for a subscription they might not use. I am still defined as a fanboy? I don't know. Its a mystery

The PS4 is great and let me tell you why!

It's not the Xbox One. The Xbox One is the first console that has actively convinced me not to buy it on its own merits. It wasn't a case of 'Oh, the PS4 or the WiiU looks better to me so I'll go with those.' The Xbox One seems designed (because Microsoft themselves adore that word) to make owning it a hassle, so that publishers and corporations can funnel more of your money to them, in exchange for fuck all benefit to the consumer.

Trust me, if Sony had come out with the same DRM scheme I would have condemned them just as hard and not bought a PS4. But they didn't, and instead produced a significantly more powerful console at a significantly cheaper price. It can't do all the shiny TV features that the Xbox One can, but it has all the major streaming apps I use and if I want to watch live TV (which I haven't done in about five years) I'll turn on the cable box.

If my preference, based in fact, offends you so much that I am now a fanboy for favouring the PS4, then please grow up and stop taking video game consoles so damn seriously.

It is not your preference but your over the top reaction to some one dissenting that makes it fanboyism.

Well to be fair quite a few console to PC ports are done very badly, with only the bare minimum of work done, resulting in some parts that should work not working correctly.

To me, a Fanboy is a Fanboy. PS3, XBox 360, PC, next gen, their all the same, they shout at you for not agreeing with them and sometimes you shout back resulting in a big stupid argument. In my own perfect world which currently resides in my head, everyone just buys the system they want to, plays the games they want to, and leave it at that. One day, my head world will become a reality, probably a long time after I'm dead.

Then why did you only target 'PS4 fanboys' with this thread? Pretty sure Xbox One and WiiU fanboys have been just as bad and just as vocal.

Xbox One fanboys have been a little muted. The Penny Arcade guy is a massive Xbox support and had a post pretty much stretching for every reason why the PS4 isn't massively better than the One...and still ended with 'and we bought a PS4' =D

But the orders beginning to reassert, PS4 fans are in such a position of power that the backlash was crushed, but we're now seeing the backlash of the backlash being crushed which is leading to threads like these from people tired of the one-sidedness of all the discussion. The fact that Sony completely deserves that one-sidedness doesn't make it easier to put with 20 threads talking about the PS4 being awesome =D And this is how the Xbone begins to pick up a bit more pace
