I've always loved playstation, always will. And PSN is a great way to play. Unfortunately it has been down due to 'an external intrusion' for a few days now and no one seems to know the specifics. I believe Sony is working very hard to solve this problem but I do find the lack of information disturbing as I had my bank card details saved, and I would love to know if they're safe. An ETA would be nice too, although I understand it may be difficult to give one depending on the specifics of the problem.

What do you feel? I personally feel let down as Sony are one of the largest companies in the world and yet something like this happens during the easter holiday, prime time for gamers. I think they owe it to us to give updates regularly, although I do realise PSN is a free service and we should be grateful.

Let me know if you find any updates on this situation
Basically, I'm having withdrawal symptoms...

I laugh at the "I paid for services I can't use" when PSN is free. but no really, since playing online on PS3 has been horrible for me it does not effect me at all. :D

The only way it's affecting me is by preventing me from getting some DLC and a free game I have to redeem, but it's not something I need immediately. Sucks for all the online users though, hope it does come back up soon so people can go on their merry way of shooting, stabbing, bludgeoning, and griefing.

Some people pay for services like PSN+ or Netflix or LoveFilm. As far as I know Sony have yet to release any info as to reimbursement or compensation. Although it may be in the T&C.

I don't care at all, I only ever use my PS3 for exclusives and right now I'm not playing any games on the PS3 so it's not bothering me in the slightest.

The worst thing about the PSN being down is that I keep seeing threads like these pop up.

Use the search bars. Sheesh.

it is absolutely not true that Netflix users can't access the service through PS3. I'm literally doing it right the fuck now. once you start it up and nix the prompts to sign in, it's business as goddamn usual. So right now, there is literally nothing bothering me about PSN being down. Keep calm & carry on, ladies and gentlemen.

I play some Killzone3 online and have the grandmaster rank in Assassin' Creed Brotherhood to keep up (weekly updates damn you).
But really, not that much of a grief. Still having a blast with all the single player games.

Worst thing, listening to someone jabber in my ear about how they're missing out on time they could be using to go prestige on MW2 and completely ignore the fact they could waste a few hours playing the embarrasingly short but quite enjoyable single player campaign. Bad news about real life: Annoyances are harder to ignore. Good news: They're usually within slapping distance.

Just when I get good enough with a character in Mortal Kombat to approach online play with confidence, this happens. Luckily, unlike Marvel vs Capcom 3 and Street Fighter, I can still thoroughly enjoy myself with its single player options.
