Do they still release PSP games? I haven't seen anyone playing one for years, but I see DS all over the place. There aren't really that many great games for the DS either, once you take away the Pokemon and Mario franchises.

I'd get the PSP 3000. An excellent little machine.
I see what you did there.

They both have their good points. I personally own a DS lite AND a PSP so I'm going to do my best to help you.

DS lite: Excellent system, alot of game choice. Like, ALOT of game choice. Not only that but if you're like me and you still have some GBA games laying around you still love (like old Pokemon ones or for me Zelda games) then I'd definitely choose the DS. I wouldn't waste the money on a DSi, but i guess that's only if you're partial to the GBA slot.

PSP: Not as much in the way of game selection, I got it because I can't afford a PS3 and release of Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, and Persona have been announced/published for it. I find that the PSP is more of a specialty system, you really only see people buy it if they know ahead of time what they want. There's also the added bonus of it being a music player for me (and a video player for others) so if you're looking for something that's mroe content oriented and less about the games themselves (not to say there aren't good games for the PSP but there is a far slimmer market than the DS) then I'd vouch PSP.

I really hope this helps!

I have both, and honestly you'll have a better library selection with the DS. I basically only use my PSP for import games these days, and I hate most of the usual selection for it. It just didn't keep up with a good enough library for me to recommend it.

The psp 3000 is actually pretty good you just gota keep good care of it. Despite the psp having great games! like to name one Disgaea!!!! The DS does print money though so i guess the ds is the more logical thing to get if you need cash.

Depends what you want. The PSP has a digital comics store and an array of PSP and PSOne games for download and unlike the DS, it's wi-fi doesn't depend on a compatible hotpot.
The DS though has a more substantial game library, along with its built-in digicams and touch screen.

I play my DS quite a bit more, it has Pokemon SoulSilver, so it wins for me.

The DS has the better library, far and away, but the PSP is generally closer to a traditional video gaming experience, and is more powerful.

It's a toss up, but I'll say that my DS gets WAY more use than my PSP.

You shouldn't let some poll and a bunch of people from the internet decide for you when you can easily decide for yourself with some simple research. These threads often contain a lot of bias and don't help overall because people simply recommend the system they initially bought so I'm setting aside my vote and simply offering the best way of deciding.

A system is only as good to you as the selection of games for you and what you want. The best way to decide is to look at both systems, comprise a list of games you are interested with for both and weight the two lists to ultimately deduce which system you want. Which system has the more games you want? which has the most quality? what are the overall advantages to choosing one over the other? It can all be done with a little research.

For instance, you may come up a list where you have 10 (system A) games you are interested in and 5 (system B) games you are interested in. Obviously the one with with the most games is the winner right? well if you want to do it that way.

While sysA may have more games, sysB while having less games, has better quality games. is it better to have 5 really god top quality games or 10 good or decent games? and what about future releases? ect, ect...

And of course it doesn't hurt to look at the hardware itself but ultimately it's the games that sell you. Really this method can be applied to any game system, portable or console. Hell this is how I decide what system I will initially buy, it just requires a little bit of research and weighing in quality and quantity.

TLDR: Look at the games and decide that way.

Hope I helped you in some way in deciding which to choose.

I don't know, I have both and they each are slightly broken; it's a really tough decision I guess.
