I've recently been entertaining the thought of going to the local library, providing it's still open, and just reading random books.

However, the impetus to do so is massively dampened when I realise that finding a cute nerdy girl in a mountain of books in a library isn't something that happens in real life.

Lots of us work at them.

... Not really, I'm mostly at my desk in the back room. Less complaining by the public if they don't see the chains.

Depends which library I'm at if I'm being literal or not... But again, I work for a government library, so most of out patrons are after geneaology, government employees, or people needing something from the community papers from across the province. Or need some legal information/documents.

See, on the flip side, I always thought I'd get to meet cute patrons... but all I get are douchey government interns or old people looking up obituaries from 1897. Or PhD students who look down on me for not having a PhD and then expect my help retrieving things.

I like to find a quiet corner and read a novel in my home-town's public library and I use my universities library for internet access. I work at home.

Back before Comixology I used to read comics in the library. They don't get them in regularly anymore though, nowadays it's more computers than it is books.

When I was a kid I'd go to the library to get books each week, as I was going through them so fast it saved a lot of money. However, when I got into teen fiction that library's section was so small that I soon read everything and stopped using it.
