Okay, so there was this Microsoft event a while ago, and I ended up getting 3200 Microsoft points and Dishonored for $34.

Now, as good of a deal that was. I'm now left with enough microsoft points to download actual games. I want to spend the points and I've narrowed it down to Read Dead Redemption+Psychonauts or The Witcher 2.

Now, it may seem like RDR + Psychonauts is a clear win over Witcher 2. But I have played RDR, and it is a great game, but I just feel like it isn't too replayable. Like it's a game that I'd bring out only once in a while after I beat the main quest since it isn't as good of a sandbox as its GTA cousins. And I've only heard of Psychonauts a bit as being completely looked over in its greatness.

Now, it is that against an RPG. I LOVE RPG's. So mainly I'd like to hear from RPG fans (It'd be better if you weren't a megafan of the series, but whatever). Is Witcher 2 replayable (or long), and is it better than RDR and Psychonauts.

I feel like RDR+Psychonauts will win out in the polls, but I'd still like to hear from people as to why.

Question, do you have to get RDR with Psychonauts? Could you get Psychonauts and something else instead? It seems like you've already decided that you don't want to get RDR, and I would hate for you to skip over Psychonauts just because of that.

Now, I haven't played RDR or the Witcher 2, but I have played Psychonauts, and it is one of the best games ever. It is perhaps the most original and creative game I have ever played. Seriously, if you haven't played Psychonauts, you are missing out big time.

The Witcher 2 is incredible, it's an absolutely stonkingly brilliant RPG and you should definitely get it if you're into RPGs.

Red Dead is a fine game but you're right that as a sandbox it isn't too good.

Psychonauts is a bit of a retroactive classic. It has some moments of inventive genius that is quite simply unmatched, and the writing is some of the sharpest and funniest you'll ever see. That said even back in the day it was horribly dated, by modern standards its practically an antique. In a lot of places the gameplay isn't that fun and it has a pretty aggressive difficulty spike at the end.

Hmm. Now that's a toughie.
Psychonauts is a good game from what I hear, but what I do with old games like that is just watch a good Let's Play on youtube. I really struggle to play older games because...they have their faults that modern ones don't and I just can't deal with it haha. But then maybe that's just me.
RDR is a great game too...but if you've already played it and...mm...it won't last you as long as W2.
...The Witcher 2 is an outstanding game from what I hear, and if you LOVE RPG'S AAH<3<3<3<3...I'm surprised you haven't played it already ^^;;.
I think you're right about what the poll is gonna say. But I strongly suggest the Witcher.

Worst comes to the worst, you could always flip a coin. That should let you know what you really want, eh?

Seems you have a problem here.

You could either buy Red Dead Redemption and Psychonaughts, which are two of the best gaming experiences available.

Or you could get The Witcher 2, one of the best RPGs to ever be released. Now, I've never played the game, but I hear it's really good. Like, really good.

Hmmm.......

I would suggest you buy The Witcher 2, mainly because you say that you have already played RDR.

You could easily get Psychonaughts in a Steam sale for about $3.

Or you could wait and get Skyrim's new DLC - Dragonborn. That's also dependant on if you have Skyrim.

Barring that, eh - go with whatcha like, mate. You can get opinions all day long, but in the end, it'll come down to what you personally feel is the best option.

No, the correct answer is to buy a shit load of clothes for your avatar! Those will make you happy!

Yo can play Psychnauts for free (or could) on Gamefly. It's also available on steam for cheap. What purchase you should make really depends on your favorite genera. No matter what you do though... play Psychonauts! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, every single gamer needs to play this game, and generate enough interest to get a sequel made!

Man I let that simmer all day while I played my high chaos run of Dishonored and it's still basically even. I'll probably get Witcher 2 just because it's a new RPG series that I haven't tried yet. And if I like it, it might change my mind about whether I'll get Witcher 3 or Dragon Age 3 because fuck EA.

I'll let it keep going though. I'm still not done with my 2nd run of Dishonored.

Go buy the GOTY edition for RDR for 20 bucks in real life and buy witcher 2 enchanced edition for 30, save those msp for really good arcade games like minecraft and section 8 prejudice

If you've already played RDR, I don't see the point in getting it again. I'm playing through again, actually, but it's two and a half years later, I'm 5 hours in and I've already taken a break. Psychonauts is on of the best pieces of immersive entertainment ever created.

Never played the Witcher 2, but I know it's a really good RPG and sexist as anything. That may be appealing depending on who you are.

Personally I avoid getting The Witcher 2 or RDR, you can buy them much cheaper from Amazon that include both RDR and the zombie spinoff as in 1 box for around £15.

The only GoD with boxed versions I would buy are Tales of Vesperia (a highly rated JRPG) since that is the cheapest version.

I just recommend you buy XBLA or HD digital only remakes like Resident Evil 4 / CV and Strangers Wrath. Dust an Elysion Tail is great fun if you like Vanillaware games (is a 2d action rpg with fun but very casual combat). Splunkey XBLA is another 360 exclusive with great replayabilty so is Guardian Heros HD, a very unique 2D brawler which is on sale atm in some parts of the world (has some slight RPG mechanics and branching stages / story)

Beyond Good and Evil, From Dust and Outlander is also cheaper to buy as a 3 in 1 boxed game.

EDIt you should be able to pick up Psychonauts dirt cheap on steam if you can wait until they do their big Xmas fire sale (I played it with my 360 pad, good game but only if you like hunting for collectables)

That....is extremely hard.

both RDR and TW2 are fucking excelent games, and Psyconauts is pretty amazing as well...

Personally, I would go with RDR and Psyconauts. Its not that TW2 is bad, far from it, but heres how I looked at it.

Both RDR and TW2 are around 30+ hours. (To me, thats kind of short for an RPG considering Dragon Age: Origns clocked in around 60 Hours, Fallout 3/NV around 40 each and Oblivion easily is over 100) TW2 has a good story and great characters, with some great conspiricies and intrigue, but the setting is rather bland By-the-Books Tolkein. RDR has a great story and characters that plays out like a classic western (a BIG plus to me) and the setting is just sublime.

RDR also has more Replay value, (that being said however, in TW2 one decision can change the ENTIRE second act, so it has great replay value too) theres just more in the world. TW2 is really lacking in the sidequest department.

Thats just my 2 cents on it though.
