So, Age of Ultron has been out in the U.S. for a week now, so it's ample time to ask: which film has the better Quicksilver? Days of Future Past, or Ultron?

I find it to be no contest with DofP being the vastly superior one. He's fun, probably the most memorable part of the film, and doesn't talk with one of the most bland, uninspired accents to grace the silver screen (seriously, it's like they just told Aaron Taylor-Johnson that the character talks with an accent, and when inquired as to what kind of accent, he was told 'a foreign one').

I have to say I agree. I thought AoU was a better film but Marvel's Quicksilver was pretty bland as a character and the use of his power wasn't quite as fun (apart from the bit with Thor's hammer which was hilarious).

I preferred Age of Ultron's due to the character actually having character instead of being an archetype that's been done to death, coupled with the fact that he isn't game breaking powerful so they can actually use him for more then one scene before forgetting he exists so that the rest of the movie can have a plot (seriously, they had no need to break out Magneto from prison what-so-ever in the first place, and without him things would have been easier, and on top of that having Quicksilver with them would have ended everything if he was present. Talk about an Idiot Plot, Xavier never should have told Logan to unite them in the past).

See I have to disagree and say Ultron's was better.

DofP Quicksilver was a one scene wonder. A fun one I'll admit but no version of quicksilver I'm aware of has ever been that fast or acted quite as jokey (maybe in xmen:evolution but still not really him). That whole scene seemed more like something you'd see the flash do. Not to mention it was easy to see that he wasn't the first choice for the scene. Reportedly it was originally intended to be a teenage Cain Marko aka Juggernaut.

Avengers Quicksilver meanwhile, despite not being a mutant, feels a lot closer to what the character really is (well earth 616 anyway). A deeply angry young man willing to fight for what he believes. The problem is he's taken in pretty easily by rhetoric. His "father" Magneto in the comics, Ultron in the movie. Even when working for evil people he believes it is for a greater good, be it ending mutant oppression in the comics, or helping Ultron bring "peace" to the world. Also his power level in the movie was a lot closer to how he's portrayed in the comics. He can hit several times the speed of sound but I don't believe he's ever been fast enough to deflect a bullet or send a man flying with a fingertip.

Also I kinda hated his DofP costume. The goggles... (shudders) 'nuff said.

Days of Future Past was more interesting with Quicksilver. To bad it is utilize just once midway through the movie and is just arbitrarily left behind for the rest of the movie. While I personally would have liked to have seen more of Quicksilver in Age of Ultron, mainly for fleshing out his character, at least he was utilized in a far better fashion, even if how the movie ended didn't quite do him justice. DoFP Quicksilver just seemed more like a gimmick for an admittedly cool sequence than a fully fleshed out character. I would have loved to have seen more of him.

I think AoU's Quicksilver looks the part, but he's such a non-character that I have to rule over in favor of Future Past.

Much preferred the Days of Future Past version. Felt they didn't really do much with Quicksilver & Scarlet Witch in Age of Ultron.

I prefered the X-men version due to his orign is more faithful to the comic in that he is a mutant born with powers and not being "enhance" from a magic scepter.

Granted in saying they made the Wanda a baby in the X-men eventhought they suppose to be twins.

Even then the X-men version has more of a personality (cocky, arrogent and loved the thrill). Having an accent (which in a way is accurate to the comic I think?) and being protectived of his sister wasn't really doing it for me for Age of Ultron.

I liked both of them, but I'm gonna join the people saying the X-men one was a little bit better for me. I prefer mischievous characters so I'm always going to lean that way anyway.

I think the way they showed his powers was better in X-men too, or at least a lot more artistic-y.

I liked that one Quicksilver scene in X-Men more than I liked any of the Quicksilver scenes in Ultron. It was undeniably cool.

I think Ultron "did Quicksilver" better though. In that he had a role to play and he fit into the movie better. In X-Men he showed up, provided the one memorable scene in an otherwise dull and utterly forgettable movie (as in, so forgettable that as I write this post I'm having to untangle my memories of Days of Future Past with that other equally forgettable movie about Wolverine in Japan), then was shunted off stage lest he shatter the plot with his absurdly overpowered presence. ("Hey, so, why didn't Quicksilver just clear the room again before anyone could even blink?")

So yeah, X-Men had one cool Quicksilver scene and absolutely nothing else, Ultron had a decent-but-nothing-special Quicksilver in a thoroughly enjoyable movie.

Gonna have to go with Age of Ultron.

I prefer the Age of Ultron Quicksilver, but I'll admit that is mostly due to him being part of the Twins. He fit in more with the film generally, though, it really did seem like Quicksilver was just an after thought in Days of Future Past. Plus the Quicksilver in DoFP just came off as aloof which didn't really fit in with all the other characters having hopes and dreams, or at least wants and needs and shit.

Age of Ultron Quicksilver had better hair... and eyebrows. DoFP Quicksilver literally looks like his hair and eyebrows were spray painted with something they bought from the nearest party store, and while we're at it, so does Mystique. Seriously X-Men, fix your shitty make-up quality.

But that's about it. AoU Quicksilver had more scenes, but ultimately didn't leave as much of an impact as his DoFP counterpart, who was just more fun to see in action, whether in God mode or just shooting the breeze.

DoFP had the better effects, was cool ... and was completely OP and made no sense in the story.

AoU made him likeable, but he was not as cool. And he .. well ... was not OP.

^This pretty much sums things up for me. It's a question of quality over quantity. As Zhukov said: in X-Men, Quicksilver gives us one really, really sweet scene...but that's it. In Ultron he at least has a presence. It's not much of a presence, but it helps give motivation to Scarlet Witch who was the truly important one of the two. Personally I'd rather have someone that actually plays a role throughout the movie - minor as that role might be - than a guy who shows up, performs a sweet magic trick, then disappears as abruptly as he came.

I really liked both, but I have a personal preference for the DoFP guy because he's essentially Sonic the Hedgehog and I'm kind of a Sonic nut.

Both were pretty great though.

Like most here said, DoFP's Quicksilver is a one-scene wonder, same as the the Turtles Elevator scene. I prefer AoU's Quicksilver, besides having him develop as a character throughout the movie, I like that they actually showed how fast he can go and not overuse the slo-mo effect.

And he's not "Plot-holing" OP, I like seeing him ran out of breath in between his runs.

Going from alive to dead isn't considered "character development".

As characters, can't I just love them both ?

I hope that Evan Peters gets more out of this though. He's a great actor that should merit more roles.

AoU version, banter with Hawkeye was pretty fun and having an asshole catchphrase is less annoying than listening to a song while moving in absolutely fractions of a second. Yeah it was cool musical backdrop but how is he LISTENING to it!? I mean... awesome scene but much like the rest of the plot, zero planning for practicality.

Captcha: saber tooth. Well... I think captcha's going X-men
