TOR won't kill WoW. Ain't no way, ain't no how.

That said, I'll be there launch day. You can play BOTH, you know :p

I don't play WoW. I was playing LOTRO for a while, but I don't play it anymore. MMO's bore me to tears. I tried to stay with LOTRO because I just love the Lord of the Rings, but even the lore couldn't keep me around. I'll give The Old Republic a try, if only because Bioware just doesn't make bad games. Will it be the first MMO to hold my interest for longer than a few months though? I don't know. I'll just have to wait and see.

More on topic though, I think it has a chance at becoming more popular than WoW. It won't happen overnight. But it definitely has the potential.

Maybe add an option, "I used to/don't/haven't play/played WoW anymore/before, but will play SW:TOR".
I've tried to include everyone who doesn't play WoW in one option.
While I realise your discussion is about WoW vs SW:TOR, having the opinions of people that don't play WoW but consider playing SW:TOR would surely contribute.

Don't like WoW much.
But, if they do TOR like Guild Wars, then I will have to try it.
Both in no monthly fees, and how they handled the world, it was nice not having jackoffs farming missions while we were trying to do them.

But seriously I am not going to pay monthly for a game.

I genearlly don't like MMO's and I found WoW pretty boring. But SWTOR looks pretty awesome. If there is a free trial I'ill probably try it.

There was a news article on the site about a Pokémon MMO getting sgut down by nintendo the other day. That is something I would try.

Wait a while after the launch of SWTOR, as many new MMOs seem glamorous at first but their flaws become evident after about a month

Playing both.

In fact, I'm upgrading to a new machine prior to the first release (be it Cata or ToT).

Anyway, I'm pissed that TOR acts as a "replacement" for KotOR 3.
Yep. I'm not against TOR, but dammit, what happened to the Exile?!

No I will not be. Mostly because I have never played World Of Warcraft. I am quite interested in The Old Republic though, so I might give it a go if there's a free trial to be had anywhere along the line.

Anything that gets you to quit WoW is fine by me. Then, it'll be easier to quit The Old Republic once you have a meager character with little equipment.

Yeah, I don't like MMO's. =/

WOW won't be dethroned by another game, it will simply fade. The recent reports that the population has stopped growing is a good indicator of this.

I used to play WOW but the expansions have gotten less inviting to non-players instead of more. This has served to deepen the involvement for those who are already in, but alienate those who have yet to join. While Cataclysm looks pretty impressive I think it is also a sign that they are out of ideas. There really is no place left to go in the original lore, so they added new races (goblins are not new but should have been in a while ago, and as cool as worgen look they make no sense) and tear the world in half. There really is no where to go from there. Don't get me wrong I believe there will be additional expansions after Cataclysm, but they won't be based in the WOW lore and that will have a chilling effect on the populous.

TOR looks like it does everything WOW does, but better and more story. I can't wait to give it a shot.

It's OK, I fixed it for you :p

Nah, I want to find out what happened to both - its just that they ranted on with so much speculation about Revan in the second that I can't see how they couldn't follow up with a sequel.

WOW is my first and only MMO I have played, and the next one I will play will be SWTOR, but I quit WOW a while ago, but I guess you could say I am quitting WOW for SWTOR.

I really, really, really hope that SW:TOR does NOT dethrone wow. Why? Because that would mean a lot of the WoW population would move over to TOR. And if that happens, the whiny, idiotic, gear-score-loving, sense-of-entitlement MORONS will ruin yet another amazing game (WoW)

And if that happens, I just don't know how I will go on, I really don't.

WoW can keep their immature playerbase, I want a comfortable number of cool and intelligent people to play with for the story and the atmosphere, not so we can get in a race to see who can kill the Sith Emperor first when his raid unlocks.

Let me put it this way,

Jedi<paladins

Sith lords<warlocks

The world of warcraft classes do some pretty fun things, like command holy light or summon demons. What can star wars characters do? Force push and lightning WOOO COOL.
