I totally think that not only is R2D2 (I guess he is a male because they call him "he") the most powerful in the "universe" and in the Force, but I also believe that he is the Star of the whole shebang, and Luca's personal favorite to boot.
Have you seen Star Wars?

I think it actually needs asking again. Have you 'seen' Star Wars? Like, even one of them?

R2D2 is the luckiest service droid in the Star Wars galaxy, that is a fact. However, C3P0 (or is it C3PO, I'm only a mild fan), is most certainly the favourite of the two, for Luke Skywalker, and Anikan Skywalker, R2 possess 0 force powers, and has absoloutley 0 strengths besides he's ingenuity, against any formidable enemy that isn't a giant machine, he is useless.

Of course, this could be a joke, but if its not, hope you've got your facts straight now, oh, and really, go watch the last 3 Star Wars movies, they are quite excellent, you might even learn something too :)

EDIT: By last 3, I do not mean to say the newest 3, but rather episodes 4, 5 and 6.

(Off Topic: Ooo, new catcha, nice... ok its actually shit, its trying to make me watch a stupid bloody clip because its first catcha wasn't readable *hits F5* finally a readable f*cking catcha)
But how do we know that incredible luck isn't his force power?

As far as canon goes, droids can't use The Force.

However, in one comic, you may remember the red astromech droid that kinda blew up when Luke and his uncle were buying droids from Jawas at the beginning of A New Hope. Apparently, in this comic's fiction, this droid was actually a Jedi Master who saw a glimpse of the future as it was picked out, it saw everything that would transpire in the original trilogy. He saw that if he was chosen, the Empire would have won, but that if R2 went, they would succeed...so he blew himself up, knowing the R2 unit would be chosen in his place.

Untrue to the official story, and wacky in the long run, but it was a fun read.

Do machines GET the force? You can question about Grievous having light sabers, but umm...he was a lifeform.

As a service droid, R2D2 has the advantage of being severely underestamated and even ignored at times. He is, in fact, smarter than the average bot and that's where I believe his edge is. Lord knows he hasn't got much else. Wouldn't call him powerful in anything, though... He can be basically beaten with a harsh kick.
It should be noted that Grievous could not use the Force. In his 'lifetime', before he was a cyborg, he was a great warrior. After he was rebuilt by Darth Tyrannus/Count Dooku, he recruited Grievous as his general, and taught him saber techniques that he would be able to use due to the fact that a droid's body is much more precise than an ordinary creature's. The reason most non-Force sensitive beings can't use lightsabers is because they lack the fluid motion to do combat with them effectively, as the weapon in itself is stupidly unbalanced being only a hilt. It's been described in multiple sets of fiction and non-fiction that wielding a lightsaber would be very much akin to when you pretend you have a lightsaber when you're playing with a flashlight.

Most people would accidentally cut themselves in two.

Thanks again for the input, even the guy who was cutting me down (I think this time Khan put the bug somewhere besides Mr. Chekov's ear).I mostly read the articles when I'm on this site,so my response time is spotty at best.

I have more input on this subject in general, and my thoughts on episodes V and VI specifically, but they will have to wait for now.I am very busy.

My main point is pretty much about what some of us would call "extraordinary luck".It's not luck if you make it happen.Look back to my original post on this.If you can bend reality to suit your needs, that would be a force power to beat all others. But more than a force power, R2D2 seems to have a deux ex machina effect going for him(due to Geo. Lucas, presumably).

Impossible, some would say.But to quote Robert Howard Pyle: "Nothing is impossible, although some things are so improbable that they fall into the realm of the ridiculous."
