I hate the X Factor because it masquerades as a talent show when it is in reality an excuse for Cowell to make money off phone lines, poor entertainment, and make a one-hit wonder out of someone who might be slightly talented.
Also last year's winner is being beaten by the runners-up and she has been Americanized which I detest.
However, this plan sounds exactly like what happened last year: they tried to get someone else's version of Hallelujah to number one, failed, and still gave Simon Cowell a bucket-load of cash (he owns the rights to all versions of Hallelujah).
It will either work, which would be pointless, or fail, which would be even more pointless.
