If a game gets you mad don't play it. The moment rage hits me I switch games and go back to it later

Well, there isn't really a direct comparison to other mediums, but anyway: not really. I mean, throwing a pad on the floor out of frustration I can get (if you've done it once or twice, not on a regular basis), but going any further and you have fucking problems.

Raging the the point of breaking controllers is childish.

On the other hand... Raging to the point of being enraged is perfectly acceptable. Mostly because this [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dawn_of_the_New_World]. Yep, even after at least a year, if not two, I'm still on about it. Talk about everlasting impact.

And also, fuck you. Raging happens in every fucking medium, even to the point of breaking things. What, you haven't seen people initial reactions to Transformers 2?

No, never ever ever EVAR!
But maybe i'm biased.
You see, my brother rages so hard and so violently so easily that it's driven me to breaking point.
Everytime he get's killed- MODDER! WTF!? UHHHHH I SHOT HIM! I KNIFED!
Uhhhh...
NOOB!!!
Argh! He is so annoying!
So, no. You should always keep calm while playing games.
Always.
That is how my brother is as well. Makes it worse is that he talks to me about how the game is cheating or is bullshit while I'm watching something on my laptop trying to ignore his rants.

Why would you it's not gonna change anything, though I'm pretty beast at FPS's so I don't often have a reason to rage.

Another thread got me rather curious about this. But is raging at games deemed acceptable? I don't mean just getting mad at a game due to any various circumstances. But i mean actually raging to the point of breaking controllers, monitors, and games. I don't know any other medium where they pride themselves on destroying things when they get mad at them (Atleast i haven't heard any stories of people who burned books that got them mad, or broke a t.v when a movie turned out horrible.) So in addition to the poll i want to ask, why are we seemingly Ok with people going into a rage over games?
Well, over my 10's of thousands of hours of gaming, over two decades and hundreds of games I have to admit that once I got really mad at a game. I even went so far as to "tut", turn off the game and go and make some tea... I know, the violence.

Seriously, getting mad at computer games is simply immature.

It's moments like these that really does close the gap between the sports fan and the video game enthusiast...

I say yes. A lot of the games I play are designed to be infuriating. I've rarely been really pissed off and thrown my controller across the room or something, but the rage just makes it more satisfying when you eventually beat that bastard level.

It is perfectly normal to get angry at any activity that is frustrating you and causing you to fail repeatedly.

Raging at Black Op's shitty hit detection is no more silly to me than raging at Vista crashing for the 600th time today.
