You know what happens to people who don't like Raiders?

In all seriousness it is the first and I think the best. Last Crusade is up there with it, but this is what introduced me to Indy.
Oh the same thing that happens to people subjected to Rebecca Black then :/

Yup that is a classic, back in the days they did real stunts and make big props since CGI wasn't invented yet.

It's an all-time classic, without question. It's a wonderful throwback to old-fashioned adventure movies, with one of the most iconic film scores ever written. In terms of pure entertainment, Raiders is one of the best films ever made. Hell, it's one of the best films ever made, end of.

I prefer The Last Crusade because Connery is in it, Raiders would be my next favourite but I don't like the other two all that much. Then again, I don't think anyone likes Kindgom of the Crystal Skull.
Crystal of the wha?

OT: II think all three Indiana Jones movies are awesome, raiders of the lost ark is by far my favorite of the series though.

I'm just glad Hollywood hasn't gotten their money grubbing hands on it and butchered and stained the series by putting a horrible thing into the series, like say.... aliens, and if they did do such a travesty, I would deny such a thing would have ever happened.

I did. Fanboy's pissing and moaning be damned. I thought it was a solid movie. Argument about "ITS AN ALIEN AND STUFF" gtfo. Its a horrible argument. Indy in the movie even explains it. Marion returning is nice.. Shia.. Well.. Yeah he sucked...

The last one is the only one I saw completely and it was HORRIBLE, about the first one, from the bits I've seen, quite nice.

The people who complained about Crystal Skull were mostly upset that he was chasing aliens, and apparently never understood that Indiana Jones was always about the quest, never about the object -- it's why The Last Crusade was such a fitting end to the series.
I agree, for me Soviets chasing aliens is just as natural as Nazis chasing religious relics. Culturally the Soviets wouldn't believed or cared about a religious weapon, whereas the Nazis did have some important people who held very strange beliefs. But alien tech and knowledge is definitely something Soviets would want in the cold war with the space race going on.

The film was just bad, it's not the aliens fault.

It's great, but not quite as good as The Last Crusade, with Temple of Doom coming quite a bit after it, and Crystal Skull waaaaaaay after that.

I don't hate Crystal Skull because of the shift from the 30's, nazis and religious artifacts to the 50's, commies and aliens though. Or even because of the infamous "nuke the fridge" scene. If it had been executed properly, it could have still been a really good movie. But it wasn't. It was a terribly executed film, that certainly had no help from Shia Labeouf and his nonexistent acting abilities.

Raiders and Last Crusade are tied for my favorite. Admittably Raiders (*grumbles*and Crystal Skull) have my favorite female lead but Last Crusade has Sean Connory *sighs*. But Last Crusade and Temple of Doom, I can't stand the female leads, they just kind of annoy the living shit out of me.

The only thing that put me off about Crystal Skull was the unnecessary CGI, and the out of nowhere Mayan ninja midgets.

It's a classic but it isn't my favorite in the series. The Last Crusade takes that title.
So in order of how much I liked them:
1. The Last Crusade (Sean Connery, that is the only necessary argument)
2. Raiders of the Lost Ark
3. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (so what if he went after alien stuff instead of religious stuff. I mean how were people saying that aliens were ridiculous to have in this series when he has already found the Ark of the Covenant & found the Holy frickin Grail. The only legitimate point against it is Shia.)
4. Temple of Doom (I don't know why I dislike this so much)

Also, shouldn't the poll be from "never saw it" to something like "best movie in the series"? Because "it's a classic" seems like it should be the answer to a different, but related, question. Just saying this because I have seen a decent amount of people saying it is a classic but it isn't the best in the series.

Isnt ark supposed to be spelled with a K? Arc liek you're saying is like an arc in a story, or an arc in a bridge (the bend).

Anyways, i always liked Temple of Doom, cause i always liked Short Round.

I prefer The Lost Ark over the Last Crusade myself, but both were solid movies. Temple of Doom was also enjoyable (I like all three so much that I have never just watched one, or watched them out of order. Like Ghostbusters, I usually watch them as one long as movie).

Crystal Skull, I believe, was a train wreck. The most obvious problem I found was the Aliens (I liked the whole 'Saving God's Gifts' thing.). But I found the whole movie to be poorly executed garbage, to the point where I can't even really point anything particular out.

This, of course, could just be an effect caused by Shia LaBeouf being involved.

Also, it may just be a trick of my mind, but did anyone else notice that any time in that movie where Harrison wasn't actively talking or doing something, he had a vacant look on his face? Like he couldn't fucking believe he was doing this?
