Poll: [REC] (movie) Who's seen it? What do you think?

It's a spanish film, and my word is it amazing...easily the best horror film in my eyes, and I've said long before I saw this film that horror films can't scare me any more.

It's a "found footage" type film in the same vein as The Blair Witch Project and Paranormal Activity (sort of). If you haven't seen it, I highly suggest you do. If any of you have seen it, what do you think?

I watched it one night when there was nothing else on and to my surprise, I loved it, especially the scene at the end in the dark room.

My friend was telling me about this being awesome a few days ago.
By "coming soon" does it mean in English? Might hold of watching it if that's the case.
Edit: Looked at the date on the youtube vid and doubt it.

I agree films haven't been able to scare me for quite a while since the atmosphere games give is so much more intense.

I very much enjoyed it. Turned a somewhat iffy concept into a superb experience thanks to some great tension building and brilliant performances. Admittedly, the whole plot was a little silly, but the film was so well made it ended up as more than the sum of its parts.

They're working on a sequel, which I am not sure will work, but we live in hope I suppose.

EDIT: The sequel was actually released under my radar. But they're now working on another sequel, so technically my original statement was still on the money... sort of.

Apparently Quarantine is trash in comparison. This one definitely isn't hilarious, watch it on your own, and it's quite an experience.

[REC] is one of my favorites and more people need to see it.

Same here I really disliked quarantine. I'm hoping this will be better since it looks like exactly the same thing I am skeptical though.

Wait... is this the movie that Quarantine shamelessly ripped off? As much as I'm sure that it's much better than Quarantine, I'm not really that interested. If Quarantine got even close to the plot, then I know I'll be bored with [REC].

And not one horror movie in the last ten years was good, in my opinion. I don't take well to cheap "jumper scares".

GREAT movie, I need to track the sequels somehow. I haven't seen Quarantine (American REMAKE, REC came first) but I don't have any real interest because foreigns films tend to be better than their American remakes.

Quarantine was laughable though. It's really quite an acheivement to turn a shot for shot remake of a classic into something terrible.

Ive actually seen REC 2, it was out in spain about a month ago.. Obviously it was in spanish but i live here so i speak it..

Yeah, I've seen it, really good. And a few bit that have to say were genuinely scary, though they mostly came nearer then end. Still, really liked the story and situation that the characters are put in.
It's good, good enough that it makes me wanna see the undoubtly bad remake.
