Their updated DRM won't be as bad, but I only know of 1 of their improvements being in place by the time RA3 comes out, and thats raising the install limit from 3 to 5. Once they get the de-authorization feature out there, it will be a much better system, but still a hassle. To answer the question, yes I am still buying RA3 despite to problem of DRM because I plan on playing the co-op campaign a lot.

I'll either pirate it in protest of DRM or ignore it completely in protest of DRM. I've not decided yet. The sooner suits/developers realise that DRM doesn't actually stop most pirate attempts (Just look at Spore), the sooner we can get over this whole SecuROM bullshit and move on with our lives.

You do realize that to most business execs that dropping DRM in any way, shape, or form is not considered a sustainable business practice? DRM is more or less the brother/cousin to the RIAA's attempts at stopping the pirating of music, and they will do anything they can, including alienating their consumer base, to stop the 'breakage' cause by 'pirates'. The only solution I can see in regards to DRM is to wait it out, if it hasn't destroyed the PC market in the next decade then the old guard will be replaced by the new guard a.k.a. Business oriented people who grew up having to deal with this shit and realize that the old business model is bollocks.

....Wha? If it's made by EA it will have DRM no matter where you buy it.
...god damn it.

Alright, I'm going to buy it. But I will be very vocal about my disapproval!

They don't care what you say, only whether you buy or not. By buying it your purchase will be tallied as another success - a sign that people are willing to let EA Corporation bully them into begging for the right to reinstall their own game they bought - that it's acceptable to install rootkits with games that remain long after it's uninstalled.
But by not purchasing I'm not giving any money to the Dev team.
And between not having any more Red Alert, and having Red Alert with annoying DRM, I choose the latter option.

I don't think pirating it is the answer though, because that just proves them right/gives them an exscuse. You have to just go without.

Maybe i'm just to much of a noob, but what exactly does it do to a computer? i was looking it up, but found very little in the way of specifics. I mean, i don't really have the need to install the game more than once.

I will be getting it on the 360
same, the humble 360 may not have the sheer power of a PC, but if it means i can play it as much as i want and even let friends borrow it without worrying, then I'll put up with it.

PC gamers, you have my sympathy. Let me know if you want EA to mysteriously burn down in the night.

The DRM isn't for Piracy prevention, they made it so it can't be sold in the second-hand game market/used games.

I'm not going to buy Red Alert 3, the Japanese army is just too...Otaku (as much as I love anime I can't stand something like that in a game like Red Alert)

The thing that suprises me is how many people are simple not going to play it anymore. To be honest, that was a filler answer that I put in to round out the spectrum, but it seems a lot of people feel that way. But I'm glad to see that a decent portion of people buy the game, 'cause if it doesn't sell well, it's the devs that are gonna feel it. They may have been paid for this job, but some of them won't be getting another if sales are bad.

What, i'm the ONLY one who likes soviet themed parties!?
No comrade, you are not alone in this party. I must say though, don't buy the polish vodka next time... support the motherland.

As for Red Alert 3, I'm probably not going to buy it. I'm not a fan of the RTS genre, and I'd rather not mess up my computer.
