Okay so i have several moneys to spend and im wondering whether to get Red Dead Redemption or Fallout: New Vegas...

I haven't played red dead redemption or anything similar but seen it and like the sound of it. I haven't played Fallout 3 but I played Oblivion alot and enjoyed it immensely.

Forum which do you recommend? Pros and Cons?

Haven't really said anything about your tastes, but I'd go with Red Dead. Unless you like nice long action RPG's and don't mind a few bugs, then New Vegas.

They're both very good, but Red Dead is just a little bit more special than New Vegas so I have to go with it.

Personally I liked red Dead Redemption, but I loved New Vegas. So I would say New vegas, but that's just me.

For me New Vegas was a great game because it expanded the Fallout universe greatly and offered some really great stuff. The game allows you to ally with whatever major faction you want. Another great thing is that there are no real good guys and bad guys when it comes to the major factions, they all have their own principles and philosophies which conflict with each other. Plus I think the voice acting is great and the writing compliments it perfectly. Obsidian greatly improved the engine from Fallout 3 by improving things like iron sights, fusing big and small guns, adding survival, adding traits, getting rid of all the useless "Add x points to y skill" and they made the speech skill and general dialogue much better.

Cons? Bugs and glitches. And thanks to Bethesda Harold isn't in this game :(

Red Dead redemption had a really good atmosphere and you felt like you were in the old west and steadily approaching the end of the cowboys era and moving into modernisation. The plot is nice and long and the side quests offer some really interesting storylines. The character sare all mostly rich and well acted. The co-op missions in online mutiplayer are very fun and there is some nice variety to online. The environments are rich and lifelike and the people in the towns and streets have some nice agendas that seem realistic like watlking into a bar, sitting down and complaining about recent events, to people riding out of town to take a piss behind a rock. Also there is a reference to Red vs Blue in RDR :D

Cons would be that gun fights can get a bit stale and repetitive and there are some really pointless missions and some sections of the story seemed tacked on and didn't really need to exist. There are also lots of bugs, although I haven't encountered very bad ones. Also the controls I found to be a bit weird and trying to do certain actions can get extremely frustrating like walking through a door and climbing up obstacles. Also for me there wasn't much replay value, once you got 100%(which is pretty easy) there is nothing to do but look at the pretty sunsets.

Obviously you're talking about a Console. Red Dead easily.

If you have a PC capable of handling Vegas, then Vegas easily because of mods - greater durability and replayability than Red Dead.

Of those...Red Dead.

At least it's core shooting mechanics don't suck.
Ah yes that reminds me, in Red Dead you're mostly forced to use ranged weapons. In New Vegas you can use ranged along with melee and unarmed weapons. Plus you can also use the power of speech and barter to guile your way out of problems.

Still gotta fight your way across the wastes. Can't talk to Deathclaws. Yet...I'm waiting for the friendly Deathclaw colony in the next FO game.

And not recommended getting up close to 'em, either.

Both have some pretty bad bugs, though the worst Red Dead Redemption will give ya is being stuck in the floor for a little while.

Both of them have interesting stories, with interesting characters placed in an interesting settings, but I say Red Dead Redemption would be the better choice. Its simpler and its one of the few games that came out of nowhere and surprised all of us.

Well if you liked Fallout 3 or you like open world RPG's then get New Vegas.

I know nothing about Red Dead but I assume it's a litle like GTA with horses, if you prefer those type of games then go with that.

You could always use the sneak skill to slip past them, or just generally avoid the areas where they are located. Or you could hire one of the companions in the game to do the killing for you.

Also in Fallout 2 there was a colony of friendly talking deathclaws.

Well, time to boot it up...I bought the collection on Steam months ago. Where is this colony?

Vault 13. Although you might not be happy with something. Oh well never mind. Also at another location you'll be able to acquire a temporary deathclaw companion and a permanent one.
