Love Red Dwarf but those new episodes they did recently sucked hard.

Although this looks like it's retaining a lot of what made the older series so great so I'll probably give it a shot.

Certainly looks better than Back to Earth.
But being newer everything on the ship, like in Back to Earth probably looks really clean...and looks like it's taken from Power Rnagers Lost Galaxy.
But at least they've got laughing people again. It didn't feel the same without them.

Good god, more? Not that I'm complaining suppose, I think it's pretty damn funny, but I've only seen the first four series so far. It's gonna take a while to catch up...

I really enjoyed Red Dwarf, still do and before this airs I'll be rewatching a few of the later series but I've never felt it needed more.

As long as it's not terrible and is just like the older ones then this is fine by me, not got much else in the way of British comedy on my plate at the moment. (That's a cue for recommendations of anything new/upcoming, thanks.)

It's kind of weird seeing how Kryten has aged more then the Cat.

But yeah I will watch it, even the smegging back to earth series had some good jokes. And did I hear a studio audience? :D

EDIT: Oh hey, I forgot I changed my avatar a while back to Rimmer and his stuffed penguin. How appropriate.

We should have a thread were we can discuss Red Dwarf at our leisure, man. Like what was your favourite episode, who was your favourite character, who was the funnier Holly, and stoke me a kipper I'll be back for breakfast!
Nothing beats "Quarantine Zone": You want to fly on a magic carpet to see the king of the Potato People and plead with him for your freedom, and you're telling me you're all completely sane?

That warents 2 hours W O O

Cracks me up everytime

Back to Earth was a slap in the face to the whole show, should never have been released.

Ill watch the new series but I felt that the last series just wasn't as funny as the "originals". Fingers crossed though!

I'm pretty psyched for the new season. But, with the lack of Grant, I'm also keeping myself in reserve. I don't want to over-hype it in my mind to the point where the only option is a letdown.

Yay, Red Dwarf, awesome, awesome to the max.

I just really hope that it is based on earlier series, the later ones just were not that funny. They never should have got rid of Rimmer (although the song did make up for it a little).

I learned my first swear word from that show, good times.

It's the delivery of those lines that rocket it from just being funny to something bloody genius. Everything about that episode was funny.

The best part was that it worked much better then Kochanski's "psycho babble". I agree, that episode rocked as well. Especially Lister's dream, I can't keep a straight face watching it.

One of my personal favourites is from Meltdown.
"... It's Winney the Pooh. He's refusing a blindfold..." *shots*
The way Lister stumbles away from the window was so funny, and then: "Nobody should ever have to see that!"

And who can forget the insane dialogue from White Hole? "So, what is it?"

Personally I loved everything from series 1 to 6, and even after that it remained funny, though it was obvious the quality had dropped, in spite of "better" "special" "effects".
I agree that getting rid of Rimmer was a mistake. Back to Earth was smeg, tho.

Also, best female Holly line: Well, the thing about a black hole - its main distinguishing feature - is it's black. And the thing about space, the colour of space, your basic space colour, is black. So how are you supposed to see them?

Gold pure gold

I'm a bit wary of the reboot... but I guess I'll give it a shot. Still wish they'd reair the original series, though.

i had no idea it was coming back, and as a new series, not another fucking reboot. man, you made my day. looks pretty similar to the old stuff so here's hoping they remain faithful to the older eps ^^

They must have made Lister up to look that old, in the current episodes of Coronation Street Craig Charles looks younger and thinner than he does in that trailer.
