I wouldn't put too much faith into red fraction:Guerrilla, most because I don't think that they can recapture what made the old red fraction games so fun to play.
I played an early Alpha of it, and found it to be alot of fun. My views haven't been tainted by playing the first game, so I can gladly say that I'm buying it if I have something that can run it by the time it comes out.
I think it being Third person hurts it. It started as a FPS, it should've stayed an FPS. Third Person Shooters are starting to become the new Halo, except, sticky cover mechanics are the main core gameplay.
Red Faction2 failed to live up the first game, I don't see how an umpteen year gap and a switch Gears clone camera position will save this one.
The animation looks pretty ropey too, obviously it's not finished footage (I hope) but I would expect it to look and move noticeably better than Mercanaries 1.
