Hlaalu, because of a glitch.

My Argonian was finishing a quest, and I had to meet with a big shot up in a tower with some other big shots. After I finished the quest, I started chatting up everyone else in the room.

Apparently, one of guys in this room is a leader of House Hlaalu, and he is bugged.

I talked to him and he congratulated me on a job well done, and named me Grandmaster of House Hlaalu. This is strange because I had not done a quest for him, and I was not a member of Hlaalu. At least, I wasn't before. After I got done talking with him, I checked my character sheet and sure enough, I was now a part of Hlaalu, though I held the lowest rank. I talked to him again and he said my rank was too low to be seen with him (even though he just called me Grandmaster a few seconds ago.) IIRC, you can't change houses once you join one, so I just rolled with it.

Whatever. Having your own (mini) estate with servant and guard is kinda neat.

EDIT: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Redoran_or_Telvanni_and_Hlaalu talks a little bit about the glitch. I didn't do exactly what is mentioned here, but I still had the same effect - forced into Hlaalu without even realizing it.

I have to admit that I never got that far into Morrowind. Every time I play it, I get about halfway thru the story before I become a bloodcraving murderous psycho and kill every last thing on the planet. I might go back to it and try to get thru it.

I'm a Rogue who plays as a Redoran. Honestly of the three houses Redoran are badasses that are surpassed only by the Buayont Armigers.

Totally Telvanni.
And my decision was based exclusively on their architecture.

If only that were a nord on a cliffracer...

House Dagoth!!!

Because I'm an evil bastard who wants to rule Tamriel!

But seriosuly I went Hlaalu based solely on the fact that it's fun to say "Hlaalu".

Hlaalu all game, erry game.
They were the bets house, just for the loot you got from their quests
Also, being a Dark Elf sneak/acrobatics specialist with high speed and damage, it was quite enjoyable killing quest-relevant people.

I'm first and foremost a Hlaalu man. They're perfect for my favourite playstyle as the sneaky, yet charming, assassin. They favour mercantile, light armor, marksman, speechcraft, short blade and security.

I always end up raiding Ghostfence for the glass armour set that's there anyway, so yeah.
If they are as this user describes them, then chances are its hlaalu. I never really liked Morrowind :(

Edit: Not hating on morrowind in a thread that shows favor to morrowind (that'd be stupid ;P), just explaining why I don't know for a fact that they are like that.
Well, Morrowind is a bit hard to get into, and the combat system is rather poor. Nonetheless, I love it more than Oblivion. It's all 'bout personal preference, yo ;)

Hlaalu, bitches. Gotta side with my monarchy. Keeps me safe at night. Last thing you want is King Helseth wanting you dead.

And we have Crassius Curio. That makes us awesome. Or creepy. Maybe both.
I remember the first time I met Uncle Crassius. You might say I was a bit.. Flabbergasted, when he asked me to, you know, undress and make out with him and all that jazz.

Telvanni provides the most interesting manor and NPCs (apart from the head of Hlaalu, of course. You-know-who), though Hlaalu has its merits.

Redoran is kind of boring IMO, even though I adore Spears (Argonian lancer).

How could anyone be sneaky in Morrowind? I found the stealth absolutely terrible when I played it. But good for it's time, no doubt.

Is Sneaking secret epic with a high skill level in it?

Telvanni all up in this *****.

A house of xenophobic wizards of varying reclusiveness, morality and sanity all hanging out in giant mushroom towers? That's the kind of faction more games need.

Hlaalu because it was always easier for me to find, even if it was in boring-ass Vivec, and I always enjoy attempting to pronounce it correctly.

Really, it's one of the few things in Morrowind they don't tell you how to pronounce that's not obvious.

Hlaalu for Angerwing. They're dodgy mofo's, sure, but they're the most in like with my way of thinking. They have learnt to adapt to the Imperial assimilation, where Redoran is far too traditional and set in their Dunmer ways, and Telvanni is extremely elitist and traditionalist as well.

Hlaalu will be the most successful in the theoretical future, mark my words.
