One light? Then it wasn't the RRoD. That term only applies to the state where three quadrants of the ring are lit up as red. Different patterns refer to different hardware problems, that's kind of a standard with Xboxes.Broady Brio said:As a 360 user, I've only had the RRoD with one light. That was easily solved by re-plugging the wires back in. Otherwise no problems.
On topic, I had the RRoD once, but then I called Microsoft Customer Services and let them know. They were really helpful on the phone and arranged for it to be picked up from my UK address to be shipped to Berlin for repairs, and that I'd receive it back within two weeks. A week after it was sent away I had a brand new Xbox in the post, with the newer motherboard system that has a better survival rate, and a voucher for three months of free XBL Gold membership, along with an apologetic letter saying they couldn't fix it so I'd been given a brand new console as consolation. And this was a full week before I was meant to have the console back.
For the record, my first Xbox lasted me for two-and-a-half years, long after release. And never crapped out on me in any way until the RRoD. See, I treat my consoles well, unlike some people. And I had such good customer service from Microsoft, it always pisses me off when people complain about them and say they don't care about their customers, when in my experience they really do...
