I wouldn't really call that "ritualistic" gaming practices; they seem more like gaming traditions. A ritual is kind of like a ceremony to invoke/celebrate something, like sacrificing stray puppies and kittens on a PS3 to appease the RRoD god.dmase said:So I'm about to start what has become a yearly ritual, playing through the whole Jak and Daxter series(Jak x doesn't count). Since Jak 3 came out i have been beating all three jak games in a row every year, not because i have to but just because the urge hits me.(the urge being brought on by Borderlands) I sometimes revisit old games like the kingdom hearts series and the Ace combat series, but none can truly hold a candle to jak and dax.
So anyone have something that has become a gaming ritual over the years? Whether it be from something you do for every gaming session or once a year.
Same. I replace disks like I replace kidneys.Simalacrum said:Whenever I get a new game, I replace the disk in my PS3 in an extremely ritualistic manner.
I agree. Normally, I don't care about ratings, but what other way do we have to compare our apples and oranges. My point is that, while ratings are very flawed, they are really the best we have so I say go with them in some situations. As for graphics, I know I was just predicting someone commenting on how N64 graphics suck...LordNue said:Ratings don't matter. There is no objective best game, only subjective. Trying to say otherwise just makes you sound like a retarded fanboy.Teddy Roosevelt said:Actually, it holds the Guiness World record for highest rated game. Don't get me wrong, though. I respect your opinions, but comparisons can only really be affective via ratings.
Edit: I'm not saying it's perfect, no game is, but it is highest rated.
Also, graphics don't count, lol. Sorry, but people tick me off when they say a game sucks because it doesn't look as good.
No one said anything about graphics?
I bought it but i can't get into racing games. I really suck at them.BudZer said:We have the same gaming ritual, except I play Jak X as well.dmase said:So I'm about to start what has become a yearly ritual, playing through the whole Jak and Daxter series(Jak x doesn't count).
