Escapists, what's your thermostat set at? It's starting to get chilly in sensible parts of the world, so the heaters go on and the duvets come out.

Our thermostat is currently set to 70F most of the time. I programmed it to drop to 68 late at night when people should be in bed under covers. Despite all this, my room is currently 80F (27C) due to a complete lack of modern zoning and the downstairs (where the thermostat is) being so drafty. My computers and minifridge also put out a fair amount of heat, I'm sure.

So how about you guys? When the temperature drops down do you crank up the heat or put on a sweater?

I guess my attempt at making a </= option for the lowest temperature borked the poll up a bit...

Well my office now is about 23C. At home though, I had a period where I couldn't sleep unless the room was about 10C. Yes, 10 degrees. And the fan was usually on.

Kind of moved on from my Mr Freeze binge now though. Thermostat stays firmly at 22C.

The thermostat in my house is set to about 69 degrees, though its mostly off unless its summertime, in which case I turn the AC on. I tend to have my window open all day, due to the fact that no one is going to be able to get to it, and because my room is apparently the only place in the house that gets warm.

I'm convinced you either live somewhere warm year round, or are an at home nudist. There's no way I could come home dressed for fall/winter (read: pants and a sweater) and sit around in 76 degrees in my sweater.

So my room sits on the south side of the house, so it never gets direct sunlight, and the AC unit for the upstairs only cools down two rooms (mine and the main living area, everything else is turned off because noone is ever in there). That keeps my room at a very nice ~60 degrees. I tend to like things very cold. I think when I was a kid I had some weird brain rewire that makes me feel joy while being freezing cold instead of anything else.

72+ for me, and warmer in the winter if it's not too expensive to heat the place. I am the person who is always cold, no matter what. I wear a jacket and wrap myself in blankets at work when other people are wearing short sleeves. Back when I lived with my family, they'd keep the thermostat at like 68 and put it down to 60 at night in the winter time, and I existed in a constant state of freezing my ass off. Hate being cold.

Between 19oC and 20oC during cold weather depending on my mood haha (about 16 or 17 at night). Voted for 67F since that's between 19 and 20 celsius, a vote reflecting my +/- degree indecision.

Can't remember what my family sets it to during summer though... At a guess, somewhere around 23 or 24 during the day?

I have a tiny room with a window that does not open, between my PS3, my HDTV, and my PC its usually 70-80 in here depending on how long said items have been on. Great in the winter, not so great in the summer. I'm not sure how, but bay windows should open, or the idiot that built this place could have NOT put one there to begin with.

Its a 1 story building, and there is no bay or other view to appreciate. Just something that would probably cost 2K to replace if I decided I wanted fresh air.

Queensland, 'Straya here, and 22 degrees is cool, 20 is bordering on cold. Max temperatures are usually around 24-5 (winter) and 30-35 (summer). I'd consider room temperature to be 24-25 degrees, because it's a nice shady and comfortable temperature. Unfortunately my nearest vote is 22+, so I'll choose that.

Poll is set way too high for me. 16C is a comfortable temperature, anything over 20 and I start to cook.

Anything above 21C will have me slowly melting into a puddle of goo. I got 19C right now, which will drop down to 17-18 in a few months.
