This poll idea came whilst I was reading the themed articles this week. My game of choice is still Tekken Tag Tournament, against my bestest buddy Al. I'll generally switch beween around 10 characters, although if we're just goofing around I'll go for a random choice. Al prefers to keep his selection a little smaller, with lots of Law, Lei and Bryan, and a smattering of Eddy and Bruce.

Are there actually folks out there who always play as one fighter, or one specific combination of fighters? Why do you choose to do that? Don't you feel you're missing out on something? And you folks who always go for a different or random fighter - why do you find it hard to stick to one character?

2-5 depends on the game really
Something like smash brothers I use a wider verity...
Games like Soul Cal II, I use 2-3 (Nightmare, Link and one I always forget)

In the few fighting games I play (namely: Tekken 5 and SSB, SSBM and SSBB) I usually pick any character at all, until I finally lose which is when I pick my best char until I win again.

When I play Street Fighter 4 I usually switch in between Cammy, Ryu and Blanka(I might and Yuri into the mix once SSF4 comes out). But I don't think its fun when people monopolize one character, wether I'm wining or losing, it boring having to play the same character over and over again.

I find characters I think are cool, and perfect strategies that allow me to win with them. Rotation depends entirely on how many cool characters there are.

Depends on the game but unless I like playing as them but basically my fighting experince breaks down like this.

when I start arcade or story or whatever main mode. I have about 9 matches to figure out a good most of the characters move set before fighting the ultimatly overpowered bossbattle. Which is one of the many reasons I hate tekken 6.... because you only get 2 and the bosses is tied for the hardest boss with the DOA 4 boss.

DOA 3 on the hardest difficulty is easier than DOA 4 on the easiest.

It's been said a few times before, but a lot of it depends on the particular title. If the game is balanced and offers a lot of different styles, I like to mix it up. If play is broken and the AI can basically "cheap" you into submission, I generally stick to characters that can counter-act that.
