if it takes place in current time line could the race choice be more expanded or?
Sorry I didn't fill in for WWA, well the races would be the normal Horde races for Horde, Alliance races for alliance. Along with their allies i.e Taunka, Tuskarr, Stone Maul Ogres etc. for the Horde and Wildhammer Dwarves,High Elves,Furbolg,...I forget the rest of the extended races for the Alliance.
Or part of a neutral sentient race (Centaur, Pandaren, Goblin, *watch this space*) that can choose between either.

I like the second idea (The Last Stand of the Dark Horde). Seems like it would be more fun
Yeah, it would be a fair bit easier to keep track of too, but even then the interest pool seems smallish...
Never sacrifice epic to make things easier to keep track of. If you put enough work into it, the World War Azeroth idea sounds like it could become genuinely awesome. And I mean, really, really good. Having players on different level of command in a war, as long as you put some limitations on just how stupid they can be, sounds like a very good idea.
Just avoid the WW3 effect (As I call it) Which, for those who don't know, is placing no limits limits on players, until it devolves into a brawl with no consequences or limits.
True I guess, the RP equivalent of "Never aim for second best"?
I thought I was on to something interesting when I thought of it, but it is a pretty fragile thing.
I plan to limit players quite heavily, their a piece in a world war not the only army. For example you'll only start out with a small platoon that will receive missions from the higher ups such as "Begin an attack on *so and so place* and create a diversion while the main host attacks from the back gate" or protecting a cavaran. That's not to say you wont be on the field of honour at some point though.
Ah, so you're going for the mission formula? Hmm. That would be quite interesting, so long as you had players who stayed long enough to get to the larger command roles. If you wanted a slightly different approach you could give them a list of missions to choose from, some of which advance the story in different ways. It would probably require more planning, but a free form story could kick all kinds of ass.
Hillarious, I was actually thinking and planning that out as the post came in.
Well it won't take obscenely long to get your own army, small as it may start. Even then the missions hopefully will be varied and interesting because it's
Warcraft not "Here's 10 people that can kill a death god"craft (glares angrily at WoW).
I also have to test something real quick
Horde Alliance Scourge Black Dragonflight . Schweet, well that is how we'll stop it becoming a cluster fuck.
Edit: FUCK there's no grey!
