well depends. sometimes ill use warp cheats if i need to get by something that causes a glitch or the sort, but if at all possible i try it myself and maybe look up a quick FAQ on it if needed to see what to use.

Normally it's a walkthrough and/or lower the difficulty for that mission

Walkthroughs are a bad habbit of mine when playing adventure games. UHS is gold on that. Mostly it's a case of simply not noticing a pixel-sized object in a dark corner or something like that so I don't feel I just didn't give it enough thought.

I once checked a walkthrough because a group fight went on for so long with baddies spawning over and over I started to wonder if I was supposed to just leg it somewhere. Turned out it was just a drawn out fight. Still, it was a relieve to know the game would run out of monsters eventually.

I used to cheat a lot as a little kid. Nowadays, I just go and ask my boyfriend for help, in the kind of games I tend to get stuck, that usually helps :p

I rarely give up on a game - I tend to get to the stage where I can't be arsed playing on a higher difficulty etc.

But if I get REALLY stuck I'll tend to look up a video first then walkthrough second

If there's something I simply can't overcome I usually stop playing that game for a while and try figure it out later. I never use cheats.

the only time I tend to use walkthroughs or game guides are when I have completed the game once without anything else and then afterwards I just want to do everything perfectly. A lot of the times the walkthroughs, guides etc don't offer much that I haven't already discovered but I am completionist so I just have to get everything done perfectly

Walkthrough. If you look at a few they'll show you multiple ways to get round your problem.

Cheating at a very last resort.

I look for a guide or some kind of hint after I've been trying the same thing for about half an hour, especially if it's something really unimportant, like finding one part of a gun in a Borderlands weapon scavenge mission.

I don't remember the last time I used cheats though. Probably because most games don't have 'em anymore, but it could also be because I know if I start using them, I'll end up using them all the time.

Depends. If I simply have no idea where to go then walkthrough. If I know what to do but it is too difficult, I leave for a bit, then when I come back I am fresh enough to try again.

Both because if it's simply a lack of understanding I'll always try the walkthrough. Unless you're a massive dick like Oblivion and halfway through a quest decide to make a door which needs a key and then FORGET ABOUT THE KEY ENTIRELY. So yes, I used a console command to unlock the door.

I have a sick obsession with instruction manuals, and walk-throughs are like that, but BETTER. Sometimes I just read them for fun, so if I'm really stuck, I just turn to one of them.
