It's a small article, but here's the scoop from Destructoid [http://www.destructoid.com/saints-row-3-is-mindblowing--169474.phtml] if you really want to know.
GTA IV is by all means a good game, but not even it can hold a candle to the brilliance that is Saints Row 2. Okay, the graphics aren't as good, there are a few minor bugs, and the competitive MP leaves a lot to be desired, but those are just nip picks to the overall experience. I could go on listing all the things that make it awesome but thankfully Yahtzee's already done that [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation/312-Saints-Row-2], so I don't have to.
Actually come to think of it, there is one thing I'd to add. This is probably going to be considered as tabu, but I thought Saints Row 2's story and characters were phenomenally more interesting than GTAIV's.
GTA IV's story isn't bad, it's very effective mind you, but it's extremely predictable, the characters are gangster movie archetypes, the set pieces aren't particularly original, and the progression kept oddly shifting from over-the-top fun to gritty film noir or vise verca.
SR2's story isn't neccessarily epic or brilliant, however the characters were colorful and filled with personality, the set pieces were utterly priceless ([sub]One mission has you storming a nuclear power station in which you steal some hazardous waste in order to inject it into a dude's face...No really![/sub]), and the fact that the progression was so over-the-top made it slightly difficult to predict what would happen next.
I don't expect people to take what I just said lightly, but I just felt I had to lay it out there. So let's talk about something else now...
Sooo...yeah. Saints Row 3 is offically official. Excited? Intrigued? Questioning? Confused? Lonely?Call me? NO NO!
