It's sad. Saints Row did a lot to try and get out of GTA's shadow, yet here it is being compared to GTA despite being worlds apart.
SMH
Both are great games, but for vastly different reasons.
SRIV is sexier, funnier, and looks okay. The similar engine means importing old characters, and a familiarity.
Super powers, gender select, the Penetrator, the walk down memory lane, the penetrator, the celebrities, the jokes, the missions (especially the loyalty ones), did I mention the Penetrator?
It's probably the most fun super hero game ever. Not perfect, but more fun than I had in a while.
GTAV? As much as I didn't think I would, or could, I found myself relating some to the three characters and/or enjoying them some.
Franklin harkens back to my days working on a car lot. I didin't repo, or anything, but still, I worked on a car lot dreaming of bigger'n better.
Michael, I can relate to. I wanna "retire." Bit simple, there. I like interesting times, but I wanna get away from things. He's an ok guy. He has a soul, a conscience. He does bad things, but he isn't a murdering psychopath. He's spared more people than I think people give him credit for.
Trevor, well, He gets picked on for being Canadian, though I can't see how peopel tell. I can relate to not being obviously american looking more asian than white, and living in the south. I'm not that bold, or brash, but he sure is fun to watch.
But I think I'll enjoy my GTAO character more. OCT 2nd can't get here soon enough. Single Player's basically training.
GTAV is okay. Lil' punishing, especially with how they replicate the joys of trying to corner in american cars.
I can't be sure but I'm pretty sure they'll have that same flaw a lot of sandbox games have. Story's over, I have everything I can get, what now?
I've beaten SRIV, and ran into that. I've beaten a lot of sandbox games, and ran into that.
