Htf people vote for Saints Row 4? I've got the game at launch and i defently felt like i just got saints row 3.. Saints Row 4 was too recycled and there was nothing new in the game except of the super powers.
My vote- Defently Grand theft auto 5

SR4 was great, a lot of fun, and it was like Prototype with familiar characters, and the celeb cameos were awesome. It was, however, horribly unpolished, froze my PS3 a few times, and looked terrible even compared to other SR games. But, it was a blast to play.

GTA V however, is an amazing technical accomplishment, and it shows. Despite the hoopla about the characters being unlikable, I enjoyed playing as the terribly flawed people they were, and as you get to know them, you might find yourself empathizing with the one you despised initially. The only bugs I've run across had to do with the garage system (which I honestly wish they could've went SR style with), but my problems have been relatively minor compared to others' I've been hearing. The game looks great, and plays great, and I'll see myself spending WAY more time with it than SR4.

Both are "great". Well, one might say that both brought relatively little new to the table but they did deliver on things we expected them to, mostly.
Saints row is very short so if you're on a budget i'd say buy gta and get one of the earlier saints row titles which are kinda needed to build up to the madness which saints row 4 definitely delivers.

As much as GTA V looks appealing to me, I'm going with SR-IV because its fun...it is seriously is more fun. I love the freedom you get to roam and do whatever you think should be done. The characters grow on you more because of the history you've had with them. Now I give GTA the honorable mention because it is impressive, but the writing feels slightly childish. Yes a couple characters stand out but in the end you're just another crim who gets dropped in the next game. Plus, I honestly would like to see some continuity between games. Now look back at SR-IV, the writing actually gets creative, it brings back the past (hell, it even broke the 4th wall bringing the co-op element in), it tickles my nerd bones more and it plays to the idea of open world story driven fun!

I'm sorry GTA but I actually crack a smile when I play Saints Row more. You are a beautiful game, but I'll go for the one with the aliens.

It's sad. Saints Row did a lot to try and get out of GTA's shadow, yet here it is being compared to GTA despite being worlds apart.

Both are great games, but for vastly different reasons.

SRIV is sexier, funnier, and looks okay. The similar engine means importing old characters, and a familiarity.
Super powers, gender select, the Penetrator, the walk down memory lane, the penetrator, the celebrities, the jokes, the missions (especially the loyalty ones), did I mention the Penetrator?
It's probably the most fun super hero game ever. Not perfect, but more fun than I had in a while.

GTAV? As much as I didn't think I would, or could, I found myself relating some to the three characters and/or enjoying them some.
Franklin harkens back to my days working on a car lot. I didin't repo, or anything, but still, I worked on a car lot dreaming of bigger'n better.

Michael, I can relate to. I wanna "retire." Bit simple, there. I like interesting times, but I wanna get away from things. He's an ok guy. He has a soul, a conscience. He does bad things, but he isn't a murdering psychopath. He's spared more people than I think people give him credit for.

Trevor, well, He gets picked on for being Canadian, though I can't see how peopel tell. I can relate to not being obviously american looking more asian than white, and living in the south. I'm not that bold, or brash, but he sure is fun to watch.

But I think I'll enjoy my GTAO character more. OCT 2nd can't get here soon enough. Single Player's basically training. :p

GTAV is okay. Lil' punishing, especially with how they replicate the joys of trying to corner in american cars.

I can't be sure but I'm pretty sure they'll have that same flaw a lot of sandbox games have. Story's over, I have everything I can get, what now?
I've beaten SRIV, and ran into that. I've beaten a lot of sandbox games, and ran into that.

How did SR become what it is? It went from a slightly silly open world action game, now it is fucking retarded. GTA is pretty much what it was before.
