Can I just say that I really don't like either of those series? I've played both, and they don't really stand out to me. But if i had to choose, I'd pick GTA 3

Just wanted to hop off my horse long enough to grab a shot of whiskey, pick up some ammo, and say Red Dead Redemption.

Then honestly why come to a topic only labeled Saint's row or GTA?

OT: I've liked GTA a wee more because the story holds me in, at least more then the Saint's row attempt at story.

I voted Saints Row 2. Mostly because it's better than Saints Row 1. SR2 beats GTA3-4 out of the ground, for me. :) I had a lot more fun not having to deal with the realism crap.

Saints Row 2

Because nothing is more fun than creating an androgynous character with the slider all the way to fat and then have them streak and having your co-op friend see their blurred bits.

You having to see their blurred bits is a small price to pay to them having to do so.

I traded GTA IV back so I could buy Read Dead Redemption. I never finished playing GTA IV.

I've played Saints Row 2 about 7 times now.

Why? Fully customizable character and clothes. And the characters were far more interesting. Yes, they were just cartoony weirdos, but at least they weren't 20 year old crime movie stereotypes.

I still think GTA 3 is better than all other sandbox games, but that's mostly nostalgia.

Saints Row 2, because the game was insane and entertaining enough to where I might have burnt out my CD a little..dunno yet but Multiplayer seems to be getting a little wonky on me x.x;

But yeah, Saints Row 2 was the one that made me drool, GTA 4 was interesting, and the characters were good enough for me to keep playing, but Saints Row 2 has better gameplay and I don't feel like I'm going to crash into anything every three nanoseconds.

Saints 2 all the way I had fun with San andreas and Vice city, but nothing compares to the fact you can create your character in Saints 2. Only thing Saints 2 could have had to enhance it was a massive open area like in San andreas.

San Andreas was one of the best games, ever, in my book. Too bad you dont have it as an option.

GTAIV was a slap in the face. They took the RPG like qualities out and gave us realism instead.

While GTA4 boasts a great story line, so Im told, I couldnt get into it. The game felt more like a chore then a game, so I never got to the real meat of the game. Too much chewing.

Saints Row 2 got my vote. Its a lot of fun; the missions are shorter, but it brings back some of San Andreas with it. Good buy. If you can muster the patience, GTA4 is good, I hear.

Saints Row 2. Admittedly, the only GTA game I played was IV, and it blew hard. The game was boringly terrible.

Saints Row 2. I can actually drive in the game and there's more activities and less attempts at gritty realism.
