now we all now that saints row two took a left turn into crazy street, but looking at the next game there seems to be a completeley new concept as it has gone over the top amazingly, I mean killing mexican wrestlers with a giant dildo...
what i want to know is what do you think? is it going to ruin the series? is it going to make it stand out? does it put you off buying it? i personnally cant wait for the game :D

It's going to stand out in a HUGE WAY. Saint's Row 2 stood out for its silliness and Saint's Row 3 will stand out for adding a glossy coat of rainbow colors to the madness that was SR2.

Speaking of Dildos, I really hope this makes an appearance as a weapon:

Chainsaw of Tongues baby!

I can't wait for Saint's Row 3. It just looks so freaking crazy...This is going to be a good fall/ winter for gaming.

Hey, it's not like gaming couldn't use a game that doesn't even try to be 'realistic' once in a while.

I would rather it goes a bit stupider a la San Andreas, rather than the serious route taken by GTA 4. I loved San Andreas so much and I have Saints Row 3 on preorder. To be honest, I have a thing for flying around sandbox games. So when they showed that VTOL jet, I had no choice but to buy the game, even if the rest of it featured high paced accounting and watching paint dry.

sillyness is what makes saints row cool..I LOVE that fact that I can play as a skinny white girl

HOWEVER I am still hoping it will have an interesting story, like saints row 2, I think theres alot of potential

i know what you mean, and thats why i love sr2, but i wanted to know if people think that a game that isnt realistic enough isn't worth buying

I am going to buy Saints Row 3 the day it comes out. To me, the whole point of sandbox games is to go completely bonkers - blowing up cars, throwing grenades around and generally aim to destroy anything that can be destroyed. Preferably in the most spectacular fashion possible, of course.

The folks at Volition seem to agree with me on this, and have decided to enrich the gameplay experience by adding the most ridiculous, over-the-top weaponry and clothing options they could think of. I really see no reason to be put off by their approach.

For many years, I thought that nothing could ever make San Andreas look boring. Saints Row 2 proved me wrong. Come on, Volition, throw in some countryside in your next Saints Row game, and I'll never buy another GTA game!

i completely agree and i have already preordered it, i love the saints row series because i used to love gta4 because it was farmiliar and unfarmiliar at the same time (i was young and foolish) then i played saints row 2 and i realised that that sucks and i want to roundhouse kick old people and dress up like the joker, thats what makes me love the games :D

Saint's Row taking a headlong polevault over the prison walls of Camp Crazyfuck can only be a good thing. We've had too many "gritty, realistic" games lately. The reason Saint's Row 2 stood out is because the entire point of the game was just to go nuts, blow some shit up and take shit over. Why is your character doing it? Because he fucking wants to, that's why!

Plus not having to cart your fat cousin around to burger joints and cinemas every 5 minutes is a good reason to prefer Saint's Row over GTA.

As long as the game doesn't expect me to take it seriously, it should be fine.

Or at least don't let the serious and silly overlap like this:

I ran around Saints Row 2 in a mankini and a giant mascots head, so I think whether killing luchadors with dildos is sillier is debatable.
Personally it's why I love Saints Row, it doesn't let seriousness get in the way of having fun. I can't wait for the third.

My favorite sandbox game for just fucking around and having fun, Just Cause 2.

My favorite for atmosphere and story, Red Dead Redemption.

GTA IV is a very cool game, but it doesn't really let you be a huge dick without consequence. And the only two dudes worth hanging around with are Brucie (Alpha, baby!) and Little Jacob. I hope SR3 has a solid story, but also a loose enough mission structure that doesn't force you to play the way the game wants you to. And lot's of different vehicles please! Make it crazy and people will buy.

Saint's Row 2 was the one I chose from the polls, even though my play experience was atrocious because I played it on the PC which had a lot of problems (constant crashing, low framerate whilst driving etc.).

It was just... THAT fun. Pretty much every other game focuses on realism, so it's nice to have one that doesn't conform to the same ideas as the rest. Looking forward to SR3 :D

wish unskipable would do a intro on that instead of the normal intro
