So there's a (legal) drug out called Salvia. Produces powerful hallucinations within one minute, lasting up to 10. Or within 10 lasting 30 min to an hour and a half depending on consumption. It has produced no harmful after effects through testing and no physical or psychological dependency.

Should it be banned by government based on the simple fact it is a drug? Doesn't seem that way, eh?

*Edit - Accidently pressed enter to go to the next poll option before I had even typed this :p

I'm not sure about the long-term effects of it, but yeah...its a drug so, you really probably shouldn't be using/abusing it.

Mind-altering substances make people do dumb things whilst under the influence. Like moon-tickling...

(and a cookie for whoever gets the reference)

I've never tried it, so I can't really say if it's dangerous. However, if what you say is true then I might give it a shot. How do you ingest it? Do you smoke it? If so, can I put it through my vaporizer and get the same effect?

its such a rarely used drug that it really doesn't matter.
but if you want to knock yourself unconscious so you can look at the pretty lights go for it.

A few comments on this thread. Giving people only one option in a poll/election is a dictator thing. Another thing, you should actually post something, maybe some information on the drug and the problems it's causing, perhaps even some statistics on how many people are using it. And anyway, this really isn't eligible for a poll as it is, anybody who agrees with drugs probably does them or have friends who do, and they probably wouldn't admit to it publicly. Your best bet is to just start a discussion about the drug itself, and say 'screw it' to the poll.

Edit: Ah, I see now. As for what you said, if it is shown to have no harmful side-effects, then what's wrong with it? Keep it legal, get some money flowing in the economy, and generate some good tax money for the government. Since it is harmless (at least so far) it is an all-win situation.

You can chew on the leaves for a slower, longer effect. Vaporizing is almost instant, within a minute, but VERY powerful. Get a sober buddy nearby.

There are YouTube videos of its use.

Look, here's my *official* statement on what the Oracle thinks on drugs, so I don't have to keep repeating it! :p

Some drugs are harmless. Some drugs are not. The latter includes meth, cocaine, heroin, and all those other lovely assorted flavors. Addiction isn't good, because you CAN'T just stop any time you want, that's a part of your brain specifically designed to be in denial BEING in denial. It is long and it is hard and it is sometimes very painful- just ask my father, who used to use cigarettes. Meth, in particular, is a prime example- there are DOZENS of negative side effects, it's extremely addictive, it's extremely expensive, and the high is short-lived anyway, just like any other drug, so it's not worth it!

Drugs like salvia and marijuana....well, here's where we're getting into thorny territory. I think that there's ample evidence that marijuana CAN in select cases be used to treat illnesses and diseases. But that doesn't mean I endorse using it, nor does that mean I even think it should be legal. The courts and the law decide what's legal, and regardless of your position on pot or salvia or something equally minor, the former is illegal and salvia use is frowned upon.

Salvia, I believe, is legal. So if you're into shamanism or you'd just like to look at all the pretty colors or whatever reason, you CAN do it. But if you absolutely have to for the love of God do it indoors, and not in a car or somewhere where you could injure someone.

Just be smart, be safe, follow the laws, and if Drug X IS completely legal and you absolutely HAVE to get your fix, go ahead, but DO IT INDOORS where you can't harm yourself, or anyone else.

And that's the Word.

There don't seem to be any long-term effects on it, so that's a plus. I still don't think I'll try it.

If it's proven unharmfull, and non-addictive then i don't see the big problem.

Just cause it's a drug doens't mean it's the spawn of satan. Nicotine and alchohol are also drugs. Dopamine is a drug which is released durring sex to name a thing, that's not bad.
