Poll: Sasquatch, Nessie, and jackalopes oh my!

So hello escapist community , I bet you have all heard of these creatures and have your own opinions of them. I recently read an article in the Backwoodsman, a magazine my dad has been reading and it had some evidence for the existence of Sasquatch, said evidence being foot prints, hand prints, and hair I am quite interested about that. So what do you think and a Jackalope is this thing

EDIT: Thank you everyone for the great replies I was really only talking about just the mythological creatures and whether or not they exist. I never said if one exists that they all exist that would be silly. The Kracken and other mythological beings here totally on the list for discussion. Those were just the three off the top of my head I could name.

Those guys are small fries, what you really need to know really exist are the drop bears, they're both dangerous and savage.

On only a slightly less silly note, kind of, I guess, maybe but probably not.
I believe that some of these creatures of myth may have existed at some point in some form but not in the romanticized versions we hear about them these days. The rest are just stories, misconceptions and wives tales.

There's an awful lot of shows based on looking for [insert mythical creature here] but they never seem to find them. Plus all of the "pictures" of these creatures are always shitty as hell...though I suppose there could just be a very blurry ape running around.

The only creature I would even consider as a possibility would be a "Loch Ness monster" type of creature in the ocean. There's just a ton of water on this planet (for those of you who haven't noticed) and there's potentially something like that in the darkest corners of the ocean...

Nope. If they existed, we'd have found them by now.

Note, these aren't some weird bug or deep sea fish, these are generally large, apex predators in places where there are humans. Those are the animals you just can't miss.

You'll also note that many cultures across the world have stories about the Sasquatch or similar, it would appear to be one of those things humans like inventing. The odds of their being several independent but similar species of those spread out across the world which have never been found...nah.

Having said that, not far from where I live are at least some plesiosaurs, closely related to the Loch Ness monster. These have been sighted a number of times...by the same bloke...not sure how he knows the Loch Ness monster is a plesiosaur, though.

You can't group them all together and ask whether we think they're all real, or all fake.

There's very little logic behind the notion that "a rabbit with horn like growths on it's head is possible, therefore a giant prehistoric lake monster must also exist".

Zoologically speaking, there very little connection between rabbits and aquatic dinosaurs and apart from both the Jackalope and Loch Ness Monster being Cryptids, there's no connection between them at all.

Some Cryptids could exist in the sense that they're just normal animals with rare mutations or diseases which are so rarely encountered, there's little evidence for them and they've attained mythological status.

Other Cyptids are clearly bullshit and the product of fevered imaginations, myths and storytelling. The existence of one does not prove the existence of them all, they're not all part of a group like Monsters In My Pocket.

It is also however the same reason Hitler was able to convince some Germans that 'ayrians' were a race of people meant to rule the world.

If I was to believe in one, Sasquatch. A missing link makes a hell of alot more sense then water dinosaurs surviving millions of years in one small lake.

Sasquatch, Nessie, Yeti, Chupachabra, and most of those other creatures, I tend to call myths.

To me there is only one location that a unknown creature could exist and that is the ocean. People have called me crazy when I have stated, entirely serious, that mermaids have a higher chance of existing over Bigfoot or the yeti in my eyes. I would believe Nessie alot more if she was located in the full blown ocean instead of... a lake in Scotland. I'm not saying mermaids are real or that I believe in them, I just think the chance is higher than others.

I personally believe that a lot of these "creatures" are just stories you tell your kids so that they won't roam off into the woods or go swim by themselves. Any so called "facts" about Sasquatch sightings needs to have pretty hard evidence (as in an actual body) before I start to believe in some form of a 3 meter tall human shaped ape roaming about and eating people.

The cute little Jackalope rabbit seem more probable. Even if it was more than likely just sightings of rabbits with that tumor disease.

I personally believe that while it is likely that Sasquatch doesn't exist, I think that it is plausible that it could exist in places like the Pacific Northwest (and in the Rocky Mountains). The fact is that more than 50% of Washington and something like 40-60% of Oregon are forested. 8% of Washington's forests are considered wilderness areas, areas that you need special permission to enter, and are almost entirely untouched by humans (not 100% sure about Oregon but its about 8% as well). With that much forest, and that much wilderness area, its not outside of the realm of possibilities that a large predator (or omnivorous animal) could live (in a relatively small population) without really being detected. There is just way too much space. I think the stories go back way too far, and are shared by too many native peoples to just be a myth (yes, I know that almost every culture has a wild man/woman myth).

Pretty much all of the rest are bollocks. There isn't enough fish life in Loc Ness to support one creature like Nessie, much less a population of a size fit for breeding.

The likelihood of finding a body of any kind in the forests of the Pacific Northwest are pretty slim. People have done experiments, and found that a deer carcass doesn't even last more than a few days before scavengers and various other things pick it clean and scatter the bones. To find one in the area that I talked about in my post would be a stroke of extraordinary luck.

We have barely explored the sea and its depths to any degree yet have already found freaky looking aquatic wildlife and recovered remnants of giant squids which despite their size, are believed to be infants (imagine meeting a fully grown adult in the dark waters where you barely got any light, a most frightening experience that would be!).
If there's any mythological creatures around, chances are they will be located in the sea.

So nope don't believe in sasquatch, nessie or w/e other fantastical creature is said to be lurking in the woods/1 scottish lake.

You can't live near Lake Champlain and not hear the stories about "Champ". It's supposed to be a "Nessie" type thing locked up in a lake. People have reported seeing it, but pictures are just as messy and unfocused as all the rest of these 'mythological' things.

Pretty much that. I don't believe or deny the potential existence because I have no hard evidence pointing me in either direction, and there's enough weird bollocks on this planet that it's not outside the realm of reason for something crazy like those creatures to exist somewhere. Yeah yeah, "we should've found it by now" and all, but that still doesn't definitely disprove any existence.
