As for the article, I only wanted to read the gameplay section as I want to be surprised by the story. What I read was intriguing, no MP, full heal after each battle and a sphere-grid levelling system? Sounds like there's a lot of potential there, although if the enemies are already pre-determined in the game area, does that mean enemies don't respawn and you can't take some time out from the story to do some experience and money grinding?

I'm not sure on the enemies not re-spawning but I don't think Square would leave an area empty after you cleared it out. It will probably re-spawn enemies once you leave that area. I'll look into it for you. Just don't expect a response from me any time soon. My net is really slow.

I can't imagine that they'd make it possible to kill absolutely everything and not have them respawn. Maybe 1 or 2 areas will permanently be cleared.

I am really looking forward to the game but am not yet sold on the battle system from what I have heard. Am open to liking it once I play it though!

EDIT: Is anyone else dissapointed by the box art? I love the plain white covers with the name and a small (kind of) relevent image behind it.

I'm looking forward to the battle system in this. I found X's to be a bit too hand holdy for my tastes. I don't mind turn based but as it told you when the monsters where going to attack thanks to that little side bar, it just sort of gave me time to plan my attacks. Give me everything from FF X except the battle system and add X-2's battle system, that would be my perfect game. And FF XIII sounds like it is going to be my perfect game.

And the box art is a little disappointing, I agree. I don't know why they've done that but I too miss the good ol' days of the old logo.

OT: This isn't a review, it's a preview of the game. FF XIII doesn't come out for another 5 or 6 days, depending on where you live. When the time comes to review it, it'll be a lot longer, I think.

Wow from what I've seen it and read about FFXIII it actual seems like my style of game, excluding the crappy over dramtatic tension (There trailers have been killing my opinion of it) but the battle system seems tight and the graphics superb. I might pick this up I'm still on the fence, hopefully this will be an RPG (notice how I didn't say J or W RPG) that keeps me hooked, not just hooked for a few days or a week.
