NOTE ON THE POLL
First off, sorry if your monster didn't show up. Dr. Who is a really complex show, and with only 7 slots(not counting the obligatory "other") a lot of them are going to slip through the cracks. And yes, I have not seen the Classic Series, so you guys are out of luck too. I apologize.

Oh, and one last clarification: The "Midnight Creature" is that weird, copy-cat thing from the season 4 episode, "Midnight". Which was a great episode, by the way.

Now, as for my answer to the poll:

WARNING: CREEPY AS ALL FUCK

I mean, really. Keep your Weeping Angels and Empty Child. Great episodes, and I understand they scare people so much, but they just didn't do it for me. Maybe it's because I went in to those episodes (that's "Blink" and "The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances" respectively) thinking it would be really terrifying, and it effected my experience. Kind of makes me wish I'd seen the episodes with no prior knowledge of the monsters.

Now, to expand on WHY Satan scares the hell out of me. Seems only fair.

What DOESN'T scare me is the Giant CGI Satan, or the Red-Eye Ood. What scares me is the psychological element. The way he just FUCKS with people (especially Toby, as seen above) in the first episode, "The Impossible Planet". The way the computers/Ood slowly begin to act...strange. "He is awake"....Fucking creepy.

So...Your turn, I guess. GO!

I'd say the Family snakes it just because of Son of Mine. that demented look and the disjointed speech patterns just creep me right the fuck out.

Fucking Daleks, man. They are evil incarnated!

But they aren't exactly scary, so I'll go with the Weeping Angels. Those fucks got me all tensed watching the first episode.

Edit: I changed my mine. The freaking Empty Child.

"Are you my Mommy?"

Impossible Planet/Satan Pit is definitely my favorite episode. (I count them as one.)

The Weeping Angels are the scariest to me.

Just because... They're creepy already, and you can see weeping angel statues in the real world. It's permanently made me a bit wary of them.

If there was an off chance that I'd see Satan, I'd be a bit more scared of him. Not to mention it was only one arc that he appeared in, as opposed to the two that the Weeping Angels show up in. More screen time just reminded me of their creepiness.

Empty Child.
I have some kind of horror concerning kids.
And this child was scary as hell to me.
Well it did nothing. Just wandering around...asking "Are you my mommy?"
Just thinking of it...Aaaaaahhh!

Weeping Angels.
They are scary right after the Empty Child.
I will never again be able to enjoy stone statues!

Big bad monsters don't scare me that much. Well, they are big, they look evil and....monstrous...
You know, what you get...
But innocent little boys...*shudder*

No contest, the Weeping Angels. Scary as hell as statues... and worse since DH.

"Satan" is just a huge blob of CGI, nothing scary to me.

When Amy gets locked in the trailer with the video is with out a doubt the scariest moment of doctor who, so angels, empty child takes second for me, remember that satan didnt actually do a whole lot except stare at the doctor, and I don't count supposed possesions

Weeping Angels, the first time around. They were still scary last season but not anywhere near what they were in Blink. Loved The Satan Pit and the Family of Blood tho!

Also, the Vashta Nerada. Carnivorous shadows, fun fun

Definetely Weeping Angels, most scary when they first appeared in "Blink". Second would be the Empty Child, the whole 2 parter of that gave me shivers for ages.

Weeping angels are terrifying, as was the Empty Child, but your poll is somewhat lacking (and "Satan" wasn't actually the Devil - he was the Beast and was probably overstating his importance somewhat. Omega was much scarier and definately more powerful. Besides, Sutekh (the Osirian) was actually the being known as Satan on Earth - everything else was just exaggeration and fearmongery.)
Magnus Greel (from Talons) was quite scary and while they were very poorl-realised, the concept of the Mara alone is really very scary indeed.
As a joke, I'd love to say Mel - but even if she were an enemy, that doesn't make her a monster.
My serious answer would probably be the Autons, Weeping Angels or, if you can consider him a monster, Davros himself.

Nah the Daleks aren't so much scary as they are annoyingly persistent.
Now the Weeping Angels, those things are fucking scary.

I was freaked out by the Ogri Blood Stones (Tom Baker era). I still feel a bit uneasy around ancient stone circles. Showing my age again...
