Fucking Daleks, man. They are evil incarnated!

But they aren't exactly scary, so I'll go with the Weeping Angels. Those fucks got me all tensed watching the first episode.
Nah the Daleks aren't so much scary as they are annoyingly persistent.
Now the Weeping Angels, those things are fucking scary.
....

That is exactly what I said. Despite the echo in here, I am glad that there are people who share my (brilliant) point of view.

I tried to be as thorough as possible with the poll, even though we all know who's going to get most of the votes.
Not thorough enough. Where are the Cybermen? I have long found them far creepier than any of the other Dr. Who baddies because of the way they take a person over.

Having my mind turned against me, having my body stolen away while my mind lives on, THAT is a nightmare.

The Angels just kill you. That's way less scary.

Yeah, those blood stones gave me nightmares when I was a kid. **shivers**

Still, not as intrinsically wrong as the Cybermen.

Well, I was going to say the Weeping Angels anyway.

XD Oh, yes, I don't think I've felt comfortable around stone circles since watching Stones of Blood, either.

my choice was going to be weeping angels OBVIOUSLY
they were scary when encroaching, but they didn't actually kill you, they just transported you through time, so there was less of a danger element

whereas the Empty child was creepy as fuckington

*listening to a tape with "are you my mummy?" on it, playing over and over again*
"there's one here"
"how do you know"
"the tape stopped ages ago"
*the sound of "are you my mummy?" continues

(paraphrasing)

Don't let me affect your opinions.

[sub]Even though my opinions are all brilliant...[/sub]

One could argue that the Daleks lack of society is scary.

I'd have to go with the weeping angels. It is bad enough that statues are creepy on their own without having to worry about them zapping you back in time/snapping your neck. But that little bit of dialogue and the end of 'Blink'... -shudders-

Also, Angel Bob. "I didn't escape sir, the angel killed me too... snapped my neck sir".

Now the Vash Ta' Narada are creepy, but what creep-ed me out in that episode wasn't so much the enemy as the atmosphere of the library and the virtual world Donna got stuck in.

The Empty Child is another amazing monster... who knew the phrase "are you my mummy?" could be so creepy?

Oh GOD that was awesome. Probably my favorite part of that episode.

This is also why I like the Vasta Narrada episodes, there's a ton of moments exactly like that.

Classic Series Daleks, Classic Series Cybermen, Sea Devils, that chair that eats you, Classic Series autons, those giant maggots, the original Master etc.

Classic Series monsters> everything else.

Seriously guys there is more to DW than the stuff you've been watching for the last five years...

Ah, yes. Angel Bob. I know he didn't have many lines, but he's still one of my favorite characters. I also love him for this exchange:

Angel Bob: Doctor? Excuse me, hello, Doctor? Angel Bob here, sir.
The Doctor: Ah, there you are, Angel Bob. How's life? Sorry, bad subject.
Angel Bob: The Angels are wondering what you hope to achieve.
The Doctor: Achieve? We're not achieving anything. We're just hanging, it's nice in here: consoles; comfy chairs; a forest... how's things with you?
Angel Bob: The Angels are feasting, sir. Soon we will be able to absorb enough power to consume this vessel, this world, and all the stars and worlds beyond.
The Doctor: Yeah, but we've got comfy chairs. Did I mention?
Angel Bob: We have no need for comfy chairs.
The Doctor: [giggles] I made him say comfy chairs.

I'd say the angels if I didn't know just how to combat them without leaving any threat to you, so the devil based on the psychological aspect of him. "I existed BEFORE the universe" and all that.

OH GOD, I know! I really wanted to put those guys in the poll, but I figured...I don't know...It was a special so maybe not everyone had seen it?

Besides, I need an "other" option. Especially for a show like Dr. Who.

other: the Doctor himself,
he is the most terrifying, evidence is that all other races are terrified of him, hes a nearly immortal creature who can do whatever the hell he wants. he just shows up takes people god knows were all on a whim.
if he truly wanted to he could go back in time and just unmake everything.
also what he does to his assistants is borderline evil itself

1. I'm sorry. I think that people are not choosing the "Midnight Creature" option simply because they have no idea what that is or just did not watched that episode...

2. I chose midnight creature, and I would have to give my second vote to the classic era daleks.

Yeah, I was kind of worried about that one. Not really sure what else to call it. Also: One of my favorite episodes. I agree that it is being criminally overlooked in this thread.
