How on earth could this have been considered a good idea? Spying on high school students through webcams sold at the school is just wrong on so many levels.

But what do you think? Are youth so corrupt these days that the schools need to keep a constant watch on them?

My opinion? Hell no!

"Hell no!" is an understatement of a century. This story reminded me of Nineteen Eighty-Four and it's "Telescreens".

That's just fucking creepy.
I don't think there is a valid reason for the school accessing the webcams when there was no reported theft and the kid was AT HOME.
I'd be hard pressed not to slap the person who did access the computer.
Seriously...just...no.

Which I find strange since I can't stand them.

That tactic was the lowest of low. Granted, it can get back stolen computers; but when it's used for something like that...

Makes me so upset that I can't think of anything to say!

Remote cameras inside someones home without their consent and without a warrant?

Even the police wouldn't do this shit.

Whoever at the school did this should be put away for a year or two as an example to others.

I don't even know what else to say. This is basically beyond words.

To put the image in write [ img ] (remove the spaces) then copy the http and end it with [/img] if you quote me you can see how I did it

On the topic, That is really messed up. No one would ever use cameras to spy on people, I don't think even stalkers go that far.

Of course they're justified. If the US government is justified in doing it then so are they. I say that everybody in the States should be spied on, starting with their President. Who wants to be the first to attempt to tap his phone and computer? Oh, and let's not forget the CIA, someone go tap their e-files as well.

Thanks.
Stalkers do use cameras to spy on people. It's just that they're usually thrown in jail for it.

That's so far over the line; invading privacy of the students. The school should be severely punished.

You realise that electronic communication is also heavily monitored now, and the fact you have put "CIA", "President", and "Spied on" all in that will mean it will be flagged by the CIA, and you will be rubber gloved, water boarded, then held in a cage in Cuba for a few years?

I fthe government isn't allowed to spy on people in their own homes, why should schools be allowed to?
