I like punk rock a lot, but I don't know if you'd consider it screaming or more yelling. Either way, as long as the lyrics and musical philosophy are worthwhile then I'll probably enjoy it!
I'll listen to some stuff every now and then, but I can't listen to it constantly. My tastes are more on the punk or alternative side.

Well what type of screaming? There's Nirvana screaming, then there is Job For A Cowboy screaming.
I don't like songs that revolve around it, but I don't mind it if it's used every now and then. For example:

i understand the subconscious feeling view, and yet i find it unnecessary in most music. especially when they sing like a more "normal" band, then that comes out of nowhere. it makes no sense to me then, but when thats what you're expecting in a song, then i like it more.

If you mean screaming as in screaming lyrics almost incomprehensibly and trying to pass it off as a genuine replacement for singing, then I hate it. Not much else I can add. I don't see it having anything redeeming about it, I just think it's shit. I do acknowledge that there may be some genuinley well written screaming songs but even if they are genuinley well written I don't care because I hate the way it sounds and don't see any appeal in it. Exact same goes for rap, I just hate how it sounds.
I see no point to it if it's the entire song. You can't understand the lyrics and there's nothing aesthetically pleasing about it. Beyond that, it does take some talent to be able to scream well, but assuming said talent to just do it constantly throughout a song takes absolutely none. There's just nothing appealing or skillful about it.
Screaming carefully placed in a song where it thematically fits, however, can be brilliant. I'll just drop an incredible example and let it speak for me.

I like screaming, but if there aren't any other vocals in there as well, I find it really boring. But if you have a screamer and a vocalist going at the same time, or at least just in the same song, it can sound really nice. Most music with screaming is ... well, monotonous. The drums are monotone, the bass is monotone, the vocals are monotone ... the guitar usually isn't monotone but it doesn't normally have a catchy tune either, it just seems kind of random and all over the place ... and it just bores the hell out of me. That kind of music, I don't like. But if you have a catchy tune or a strong rhythm, and there's a screamer in there too, then a lot of the time it comes out great.
I love Emo/Screamo. So yes, I love screaming in music.

I always seemed to enjoy the grunge scream, but I'd call that more of a yell then a scream.
Something like Chris Cornell in Spoonman, or Eddie Vedder in Black.
In other bands... eh, its kinda hit and miss. I find Billy Corgan can pull off the yell rather well, but hes a got a soft yell (tonight tonight, disarm).

While generally I dilike it (to the astounded surprise of those around me, as having long hair means I MUST LIKE IT NO MATTER WHAT) it can be good. I just think alot of bands do it wrong.
The Darker, heavier bands like Devil Driver (I'm waaaaayyyy too lazy to put links in so youtube them, bitches
) do it right, while alot of other bands do this high pitched girly screaming (like Bullet for my Valentine) and that's the screamo I don't like, cos it sucks.
