If you expected that 1989 Interracial Bromance about two guys who can't see or hear then prepare for disappointment!

So through whatever reason your mind can conjure because I'm too lazy to make up a legitimate one you are given a choice:

Go blind or go deaf.

To me the choice is surprisingly easy. I probably wouldn't be able to play Video Games anymore but I value being hear music, movies and pretty much everything else more. I would probably go insane without any sort of noise.

Deaf.

I value being able to walk around unaided over hearing music.

Deaf without hesitation, I like music a lot but it would be very hard to use the Internet without sight, or to continue writing, or to enjoy the outdoors, or to admire beautiful things. Sight over sounds, definitely.

Are we ignoring the possibility of technological aids? Because, becoming deaf can overcome with cochlear implants.
So, yeah. I'd go with deaf, as it won't be permanent.

Jeez, neither really bears thinking about.
would probably value my eyes over my ears as they are needed for reading, watching films etc
I guess on a positive note you wouldn't have to listen to people waffle on about things you don't wanna listen to anymore.

I tried being blind for a day, needless to say, it was rather difficult to do the dishes if you can not tell if they are clean or not...

I ticked the wrong answer by accident. I can't do anything right!

Lick 'em.

OT: Deaf. While it would suck, I feel life quality of life would be higher than blind. A lot of the things I do daily would not have to be altered at all without hearing. Would be some changes, however. Going blind would totally mess my stuff up.

... I'd hate to lose either, but on balance, I'd rather go deaf.

Plenty of sounds just drive me completely nuts. Plus, it would give me an actual excuse for not understanding what people say to me...

And... Nearly all my hobbies would become either difficult, or perhaps even impossible to do if I go blind.

Seriously. Drawing, playing games, watching TV & Films, doing stuff with Lego, reading, flying...

Nearly all of those would be 100% impossible to do if I went blind. (or at least, very challenging), meanwhile if I go deaf, I can still do most of that stuff, though I might lose the subtleties of some of them.
(No music would be sad... Not being able to tell what anyone sounds like... Stuff like that...)

Definitely deaf for me. I view sight to be more important than hearing for me. At least being deaf I can still watched anime with sub but being blind and watched RAW anime???
Yes there're dub but has anime ever come with audio desriptions or is there some fangroups who offer that services???

Deaf. At least i wouldn't have to listen to dumb people anymore. Plus i'm not that fond of music...or talking...or people in general. Basically it would give me a good reason to be a shut-in.The goverment gives you money for being deaf right?

That movie was awesome.

And yeh I'd rather go deaf too. I need my eyes for gaming, walking, porn , drawing, maybe not in that exact order.

Would suck to not be able to listen to music anymore but on the other hand my hearing is poor anyways and there's a few noises like bus/train screeches or angry car horns people use right next to me as i'm walking on pavement I won't miss at all.

I pick blindness. I still need to work on my listening skills and music is the spice of life.

I'd rather go deaf. Most of what I see is a wonder, most of what I hear is a distraction.

You can't complain about crappy voice acting in shows if you're deaf.

Considering all my hobbies and desired careers are computer art related, i'd say that my life would be pretty much over if I went blind.

Blind obviously, I'd just get sonar powers, or better senses or something to replace sight. That, and I'd imagine the government assistance for being blind are better than the ones for being deaf. You've basically got cool powers AND get to be NEET. What more could you want?

I'd really rather go deaf. Loss of my musical side and language skills would be pretty bad, but SO MUCH BETTER than losing my ability to read. D:

Deaf is probably what I'd go for. Cochlear implants are becoming an actual thing now, where visual prosthetics are a ways off. Quality of life is higher for people deaf people than blind ones, and seriously who wants to have insomnia just because you can't see, I already have horrible insomnia, I don't need it worse. Plus all of my major hobbies require sight, building and painting model kits, playing video games, watching films, tv, and anime online, reading books, manga, and comics, and posting in forums... Not to mention that I love wearing pretty clothes, how can I tell if a dress is pretty if I can't see it, and how it looks on me? Sure losing access to music, audio books, and auditory stimulus that can alert me to danger would be horrible, but on balance the potential to correct the problem is better for deafness, and deafness wouldn't destroy my life.
