I'm an American, I think we should pull out of all Nations... This will force the E.U. and other allies of ours to defend themselves, and while there finally raising there own standing army they will buy U.S. military goods creating a massive new job market. Meanwhile the U.S. we return to Pre-WWI Neutrality and spend our newly diverged military funds on things on healthcare, education, and renewal energy as the the Rest of the world slowly devours itself... That's a Win-Win!!!

I've seen someone say quite a while ago that we should start N.P.T.O. (North Pacific Treaty Organization) where we join China and Russia and all three of us take over the world and split it up fairly... But I don't really see this happening.

I seriously doubt Europe needs american troops to "protect" themselves, most US bases in europe are resupply bases, not combat posts...

Actually most US bases in the world (except the middle-east, and maybe SoKo) are supply bases, not combat outposts...

It's hard to do power projection when you can't project any power is it ? try flying these nice KC-130 over the world when they're based in the US, that's not going to work.

Since the USA is pretty much the last nation that can do "decisive" power projection, i doubt they'd want to lose that.

I like that idea, I would take a bit farther and say that if they ask for help say no for a few years first untill we are sure they really want it, every time we are asked to go in somewere within a year or so they start complaining, so make them really want it first
Not to piss on your chips or anything but you guys not getting involved for a couple of years is sort of what caused a lot of shit during WW2.

Again i do feel that you septics are a little under appriciated around the globe and what you really need is a great big war against a proper country just so you can flex that massive military budget of yours. This would also validate the need for having all those over seas bases.

but as it stands I personnally couldn't care less about the americans foreign policies. I live in england and as far as i know the yanks ain't got any permenant establishments on te UK.
ya what i was trying to say is if we let it get bad enough maybe they wont ***** about it so bad when we help, and we have an airforce base there, dont know about anything else though

There aren't enough options. If there was one saying "9/11 was planned by America, and they should get the fuck out of The Middle East, and I am American. Also, America's populace sucks" I would check that in a second.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, I agree that we should, for the most part, leave any places that we have no business in.
Indeed it was..We didn't support the locals after we helped them push back the Soviets.
Look up Charlie Wilson.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Wilson_(Texas_politician)
Best quote from the movie?
"These things happened. They were glorious and they changed the world... and then we fucked up the endgame."

You know..the United States could just pull back all it's military forces..so when events like the floods that have happened in the Phillipines..well they can wait on the almighty United Nations. Forget that the first to respond was the United States Marines..

and remember..War has never solved anything
*except for creating the United States
and for funding
slavery
Genocide
Fascism
Nazism
and a few other 'unplesant' institutions and regimes*

Really? You want the states to give up US soil. Becuase all bases are techuncally part of the US.
Meaning you've invaded and stolen land from other people.
Columbus started it.
True, but it's generally accepted that the colonial ages are over (hence the British Empire etc. has disbanded).
Also, Fix'd above.

we have non-combat bases in allied countries, though it is funny how none of them have a base in America. I for one would accept, say, Japan or Germany to have atleast one base in America. but for the most part the U.N. is the only other authoritative body that has bases in countries that are permanent.

yes, it was planned by the reptilian aliens to take over the world after everyone is weakened, lets not forget that it wasnt an airplane that hit the world trade centers, but really missles that had a holograph draped over them:

^clearly a Zygork missle

lets not forget all the horrible things we have done to the school children in the middle east, like allow girls to get an education, build schools, hospitals, and libraries. oh dear god these should be considered war crimes, after all, it is legal to beat your wife nearly to death in some of those countries and we should respect that, not to mention its also acceptable to marry an 11 year old and allow her to have a child which kills both her and the child during birth: http://www.cnn.com/2009/HEALTH/09/14/yemen.childbirth.death/index.html

yes, clearly America has done more harm than good, so lets leave the Middle East to marry and beat children: http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/meast/07/15/yemen.childbride/index.html
Yeah, bloody women in schools... its an outrage!

sorry I just jumped to conclusions >.< I had the wrong impression, it was late, and I overreacted, I have just heard that alot and alot of it is false *(with some countries <,<) I apologize good sir.
