In quite a few topics, sex is mentioned and drugs are a quite common topic as well. Therefore I am quite interested in the ideas other people on the Escapist have about these two things.

My personal preference would lean towards drugs. Not because I am the natural enemy of every woman on this planet or absolutely despise sex, but I merely believe that sex can never be an experience as powerful and intense as good quality drugs.

Quite a few people here will never have tried drugs and probably some of you don't have sexual experience either. But even in that case, I would like to know. Which one do you think would be more intense to experience?

Out of the two, drugs. Though, it completely depends on what you take.

Taking drugs and then having sex, on the other hand, can be unbelievably intense.

That's easy, sex. Because occasionally it actually means something. Drugs are just lame escape mechanisms.

Depends which drug and who you're having sex with. Shagging someone you aren't really all that into doesn't compare to someone you are head over heels in love with. I'd go for sex on drugs, although again depends on which drugs and which person.

If you take intense to mean just that, rather than intensely pleasurable, then certain drugs obviously take the prize.

Sex, definitely. Drugs equals cheating and is only used as a means to experience something else.

And sex is much less dangerous and probably cheaper =)

I can imagine a bad shroom in combination with sex being quite frightening. I just so happen to be taking shrooms again at the end of the week with my friends. Gotta love living in the Netherlands. Salvia, Shrooms and much of the fun stuff being legal here! I don't intend to combine it with sex however ;p

Sex

No intoxicating substance, other than alcohol, has ever entered my body and never will. Not that I have a massive problem with them some of them i.e. I don?t understand the big deal about weed, don?t see why its illegal it seems no worse that alcohol. What I do despise are pathetic people who take dangerous drugs, and an take a excessive amount narcotics of putting lives at risk only to escape there dull, pointless, boring existence. Most of them are sad, sad people who are so tired of what the real world can offer, they need to put lives at risk to find enjoyment.

When I mention "putting lives at risk" don?t think I?m feeling empathy for the fools themselves, but those around them who are affected by them. Car crash victims due to intoxicated drivers, drug/alcohol fooled attacks, those who are harmed in the drug trade itself are the ones at risk. couldn?t care less if some weak individual killed himself while high.

On a separate note, I find it almost laughable when smokers, alcoholics and drugies all complain that "there trying to quit, but its so hard". whatever happened to willpower, the just stop approach. I once smoked every day for two months, and gave up in a day purely to prove to some, that strength of mind alone can conquer addiction. Never had a fag since. That bet won me £40 plus the cost of the things themselves.

Sex can be intense.

Drugs tend to be more so.

Near death experiences > all of the above.

More intense? Depends on the drug. High-level entheogens utterly dissemble the world and your sense of ego. That's pretty intense.

More fun? Good sex.

Probably drugs, since they're designed to override the limits on the amount of endorphins your brain is allowed to secrete at any given time, if not change all the rules on how different parts of your brain communicate. I'd imagine that's a lot more intense than just about anything.

Of course, if you want a rich mixture of different emotions, sex probably does the job better.
