Team Ico is working on a new project for the PS3.
You have to remember that they work slowly, but it's always worth it. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time was noted, at the time, for using ICO's environmental puzzles.
Ico isn't the best game now, but it was great for it's time. It's still pretty good, and another thing you have to remember, is Ico was originally a PS1 game, but it eventually jumped a generation to the PS2.
So, they work slowly, but, it's worth the wait.

yeah Team Ico!

Quite frankly, and I mean nothing ill by this, if you think it should be remade then you kind of missed the entire point.

I also disagree that a sequel would be a good idea. More projects yes, but no sequels.

A remake isn't exactly vital, but a port would be nice. SoTC's only real flaw was the sometimes touchy frame rate. A port to the PS3 with anti aliasing? Sold.

Whoops... I accidentally voted yes!

But, I don't think it needs a remake or even a sequel. Some things are just best left alone since that game was a masterpiece. As for the sequel however, "Team Ico" has been releasing screenshots and having talks about the release of "Ico 2" on the Playestation3 for anyone who might not be familiar with the series from the PS2(It does bring back good memories).

On to the point with the sequel though! Rumors say that it will have a mix between the original "Ico" and "SotC". I personally cannot wait to see what happens in the near future, but the game is already looking brilliant.

A reimaganing to create the same game layout in, say, the apocolyptic ruins of a major city could be promising. I don't know if more pseudo-greco/aztec/hyrulian storylines would be better than creating a different character, time, place, set of era appropriate weapons. Keeping, of course, the "traveling vast expanses to kill only large divine/robotic whatsits" motif. Imagine a game like that with Akiras "Neo Tokyo" in mind...

Besides, remakes are either foregone conclusions (eg: of course Nintendo is going to release a new Metroid title for every console it creates in the next 100 years), or what you do with an otherwise "dead franchise" to pad your latest gen consoles title count.

Restating what everyone else has said but, a sequel would mean a whole hell of a lot more to me.

Honestly though it doesn't need to be remade. It's good as is. Perhaps a new story could be told with different characters and bosses with a similar theme, but I don't think it needs a direct sequel or a remake.
Yeah, the way the story ended I don't think there needs to sequel. But, I do hope they let the creators start a new project.

I don't think there should be a remake SPECIFICALLY for the PS3, I think that maybe one; with updated graphics in HD, should be made cross-platform (Wii, PS3, XBox 360 and PC). The original was a tremendous game, though I think some of it's magic is lost going at it a second time around. It's really more of an experience.

Why not a sequel that comes with a remake of the original? Like what they're doing with Assault on Dark Athena.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Team ICO specifically owned by Sony? I'd assume so *cough cough*

Anyway;

Remake? Not the optimum choice, but a nice one.

Sequel? Maybe, sequels tend to wear out a bit.

A new game in general? GOD. FUCK. YES.

No. I still play my PS2 version, there's not much they could update except for a slight graphical improvement.

Some sort of spinoff/sequel though...

How about downloadable content? Say, 1-3 new Colossi a month. I'd definitely pay for that (assuming it somehows gets to the PC/PS3/360 market)

At that team's speed? Try 1-3 new Colossi every half a year, if we're lucky. Still, new Colossi to fight would be awesome. I still regret that the rumors about and extra Colossus were totally fake... I was looking forward to that.
