Poll: Shampoo, or Body Wash first?

Put shampoo in, then rinse it out. Put in conditioner. Use body wash, rinse off body wash. Rinse out conditioner. Use face wash. Repeat the next day. And the next day. And the next day.

I use my body wash on my hair too, can't be bothered with buying another container when the one that cleanse the rest of my body works.

*note* I keep my hair short (military short) for the most part, so that could explain it.

I use the body wash first so it gives the shower time to get rid of the shittonne of bubbles I seem to generate.

I apply the shampoo and work it into a lather, then while it's doing it magic I use shower gel on my body for a few minutes, then I rinse and repeat.

If I washed my body first and applied the shampoo last, I'd have 2-3 minutes of wasted time as I'd have to stand away from the water doing nothing while I waited for the shampoo to do it's thing.

Once upon a time, I was told by my mother that you are supposed to shampoo first because "It'll wash off the body wash." Now that I am older and not quite as stupid, I realize this is bull. So, just wondering, which do you do first?

Firstly, why?

Second, I just want to be clear on your statement. Your mother told you, when you were younger and ostensibly stupid, that the correct order for bathing was:
1. Shampoo. No products on your body at all, apply and clean shampoo.
2. Nothing, you just rinsed the body wash that wasn't there anyway off with shampoo.

Huh?

It's best to go with gravity, especially if you have acne or don't like your face to smell like ass/genitals/armpits. Plus, in a few years when you start liking girls, you may also start using other products such as conditioner. Rather than stand there under the water for 5 minutes like a tool, you can apply the conditioner and then go about the business of cleaning the rest of you, then rinse. It's one of the simplest forms of multitasking.

Also, I brush each side of each tooth 20 times, and I squint a bit when I take a dump. You seem interested in these sorts of things.

I shampoo first, then I use body wash. It's just the way I have always done it, and I am not inclined to change now. It would just feel weird if I attempted to do it any other way

Shampoo since in my view my hair to be so greasy and messy that it need to be wash first.

I just leave the shampoo in while I do the shower-gel thing, and wash it all off in one go. Saves time, although the shampoo does occasionally get into one's eyes.

i have all in one, it's generic green goo that costs 10p a bottle and it washes real good too.v

i generally follow gravity, but sometimes start on my arms or chest out of randomness.

Honestly, I go form top to bottom, dump some soap on my head, and scrub down, rinse and occasionally repeat.

Well damn. Seems like I'm in the minority here. I don't use body wash. Ever. I used it for a brief few months many years ago until I realized it didn't get me any cleaner than normal soap which was a lot cheaper.

But I do wash my hair then use bar soap.
