so how exactly do you plan down to hunt down a website?
This.

Also, 4chan is capable and have showed it many times that they can do good things, plus 80% of all the people that voted yes probably have only heard of anonymous and therefore think that /b/ is all of 4chan, hell not even Anon is a majority of /b/.

This thread was served with ample amounts of mad.

NO! Sure 4chan is the asshole of the internet, but the internet needs an asshole goddammit. Plus they bring some good, i mean, their probably the ones who are gonna stop the Justin Bieber crusader kid.......they are our only hope!
I very much agree with this. The internet needs an asshole. Besides, if you donæt like it don't go there, and as with any forum they can plot and scheme all they like. Freedom of speech, no?

I really don't care about what goes on there, though I don't see a need to "hunt them down!"
Just leave them to their own devices.

Why should we hunt down the users of 4chan? It's completely pointless and accomplishes nothing. 4chan is based on a Japanese imageboard, so with that logic in place, if we were to shut the site down another one would just pop up in it's place. Heck, there's sites like 7chan and 420chan. Also, I imagine most of the people who say we should "hunt down" 4chan have never actually been to the site and are just basing their opinions on what they've heard on Fox News. Yes, I know 4chan is not perfect. But guess what? No site is perfect, not even The Escapist. All websites on the internet have one fault or another. Just because they do gives us no reason to hunt them down.

I should probably add that I found 4chan back in 2007, and have been a semi-frequent visitor since then.

I been wondering lately should 4chan "hunted" down.
Always when I hear something bad about Internet, or what "bad" things are happening in Internet. It seems "almost always" to trace to 4chan. Either the info about the "bad" things or the reason for the "bad" things, or the cause of the "bad" thing is located at 4chan. (There has also been examples of good deeds going around in 4chan.

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/104600-Minecraft-Multiplayer-Brought-Down-by-DDoS-Attack
For example. Yes I know the info about the "motive" of the attack (by the attacker, yes no?) was only posted there.
But we have have surplus of examples of people in 4chan starting "Internet terrorism".
And also those god awfull memes origin from there.

I do not 4chan myself, and I know there are "good" things in there. (Depending on your definition on "Good") and thus should not be "hunted" down. But due to my person black and white ideology of negative Utilitarianism. "The virtue of the "thing" is the sum of it' negative side effects."

So what I am asking, are the other people as worried about the balance between the "good" and "the bad" side-effects of 4chan.

All opinions marked inside " - " are subjective, to my view of good and bad. And you as a person who reads these opinion should reflect your own on to the, we are not here to discuss about my opinion, I am here to ask you a question.
Typos and grammar errors are because of me not being native to the english language, and there is no need to comment about it. If for some reason. You can not understand the question/point of this topic due to my language skill, please do not post a reply at all.

Thank you.
